★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr. Meyer is fantastic, as is the rest of the team at Parkside. I have been going to Parkside for nearly 12 years (11 years with my previous dog and this last year with my new pup).In my experience, Dr. Meyer is a superbly competent veterinarian, extremely thorough in her examinations, and an excellent diagnostician. As an example, Dr. Meyer discovered an irregularity in my dog’s intestines – after I had taken him to the ER at Upstate Vet, paid $683, and been told he was just fine (which he was not).Dr. Meyer is also an outstanding communicator. She always explains what she is doing (and why) in real time. She listens attentively when I have any concerns (compared to doctors we’ve all encountered who dismiss your concerns by interrupting you mid-explanation). AND, Dr. Meyer always take the time to thoroughly answer all my questions – whether to explain procedures, diagnoses, treatment options, etc. – without ever appearing impatient or annoyed.I have also found Dr. Meyer and the team at Parkside to be incredibly kind and compassionate. When I had to put my dog down, they were so very kind to me, and they let me sit in the room afterward and cry for as long as I wanted (it was a long time). My interactions with Dr. Anderson – although more limited – also suggest that he is a thorough and knowledgeable veterinarian. Although his style and personality are quite distinct from Dr. Meyer’s, Dr. Anderson will also always take the time to listen, explain, and answer any of your questions. Finally, I would be remiss to neglect mention of the staff at Parkside! The receptionists and technicians are friendly, helpful, and genuinely care about the animals who visit Parkside.
July 01 · Alyssa MoreyDr. Meyer and her team are very thorough, efficient, and kind. She does not rush and takes the time to ask the right questions. I think she’s one of the most knowledgeable vets I’ve had and I’ve had a fair number over the years. I’ve also seen Dr. Anderson at this clinic and he was quite good as well although his exam was more brief. I like that the clinic is timely with appointments and they show you right into the treatment room instead of having a chaotic waiting room environment that can cause added stress for your pet (especially cats). They do all payments and follow up right in the treatment room as well. Online booking for appointments is also convenient. Overall highly recommended.
August 27 · Keilie DePodetsaWe’ve been taking our cat and dog here, and Parkside has been nothing short of amazing! They quickly return phone calls, text messages and do their best to accommodate you and your pet. All the staff is absolutely wonderful, from the vet all the way down to the secretary/assistants.
July 25 · Kristin KriegI brought my new puppy here a few weeks ago to start her vaccines. Most places will have a vet visit with the first shots and then a few tech visits. She was perfectly healthy but I was charged a monthly vet visit for each shot. They spaced out shots as well. It ended up being multiple vet visits per month. The cost to spay a small dog was about $500 and the microchip cost was high too. We ended up leaving due to predatory billing practices and inflated prices.
July 13 · P DayI started one of my dogs at Parkside a year and a half ago as a new patient. He also needed surgery, so we were put on the waitlist, which I was told would be about 3 months. Well, almost 18 months later, I just received a text saying they hadn't heard from us in a while, and his shots are overdue. I explained the situation to "Lynette" via text, but the problem was ignored entirely —again. Within these 18 months, I had called and emailed numerous times and was either told that there was still a wait or completely ignored. I have since returned to our old vet, whom I had stopped going to since we moved, as it was too far away. I called to schedule his surgery with the old vet, and our dog was in within a week and healed within 2. Our animals are part of our family, and for us to be not only ignored but also for Parkside to not even offer an apology or explanation is uncaring and horrible business. I would not trust my pets here.
