Paws Finding Peace Introduce
For many in Massachusetts, a pet is more than just an animal; it's a cherished family member. As pet owners, we promise to care for them throughout their entire lives, and this includes providing them with peace and comfort at the very end. The decision to say goodbye is one of the most difficult a person can face. In these moments, having a compassionate, understanding, and professional team by your side can make all the difference. Paws Finding Peace, located in Chicopee, MA, specializes in providing dignified and humane end-of-life care for pets. They offer a unique and invaluable service by bringing this care directly into your home, ensuring your beloved companion's final moments are spent in a familiar, comfortable, and loving environment.
Paws Finding Peace is not a traditional veterinary clinic focused on routine check-ups or vaccinations. Instead, their mission is highly specialized and deeply personal. They are dedicated to supporting pet owners through the difficult process of saying goodbye, offering services that prioritize the pet's comfort and the family's emotional well-being. This kind of focused, empathetic care is a rarity, and it’s why so many people in Massachusetts turn to them during a time of immense grief. Their team understands the gravity of this decision and works to ensure the entire process is as calm and peaceful as possible. From the initial consultation to the final moments, their approach is defined by respect, kindness, and professionalism.
The concept of at-home euthanasia is a profound one. It removes the stress of a car ride and the anxiety of being in a clinical setting, allowing the pet to be surrounded by their family in the one place they feel most secure. This thoughtful approach minimizes fear and maximizes peace for the pet. The doctors and staff at Paws Finding Peace are highly trained to handle these sensitive situations with grace and compassion. They don't just perform a service; they provide guidance and support, ensuring families have the time they need to say a proper goodbye. The emotional support they offer, which extends to resources for grieving, is a critical component of their service, demonstrating their commitment to the entire family's well-being.
Paws Finding Peace is situated at 904 Meadow St, Chicopee, MA 01013, USA. This central location in the Pioneer Valley makes it a convenient choice for residents across Western Massachusetts. Its position in Chicopee allows the team to easily travel to homes throughout the area, from Springfield to Northampton and beyond. The accessibility of their location is important for their clients who may need to visit for consultation or other services. The facility itself is designed to be welcoming and accommodating, with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking lot, ensuring that all clients, regardless of mobility, can access their services without issue.
While they specialize in at-home services, having a physical location provides a central hub for their operations and a place for families to visit if needed. The ease of access from major roadways in the region helps in providing timely service during an emotional time. Because their services are often time-sensitive, their strategic location is a practical benefit. The fact that appointments are recommended speaks to the deeply personal nature of their work; each visit is given the time and attention it deserves, and scheduling ensures that the team is fully prepared to provide the best possible care during this sensitive process.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1One of the hardest things I have ever had to do was put down my sweet dog Sandy. 16 1/2 years of unconditional love. She has been with me for half of my life and I don’t believe anything can fill the void I feel in her absence. I just had my first child about six weeks ago, and I believe my sweet girl Sandy was waiting to meet her sister and I’m glad she got about six weeks with her - but I knew she was ready. Paws finding peace came into our home and helped my little girl cross the rainbow bridge. It was calm and peaceful. Dr Calvin Carrington was amazing. So kind, understanding and compassionate. Never made us feel rushed and gave us our time with our sweet girl. I truly could not have asked for a better experience and will not go any other route in the future if I can help it for any of my fur babies. Highly recommend
June 18 · Kali O'ConnellOur 15 year old dog, Brooklyn, left us yesterday under the incredibly compassionate and professional care of Dr. Lauren Atkins. Every possible detail and sensitivity was considered and planned for by their team (thank you, Jessica!) Our three adult kids all drove 2+ hours to be here to say goodbye to their little pup sister, and Dr. Lauren warmly engaged and guided all of us. Sending her off was so heart wrenching but we couldn't have wished for a better way or one that she deserved more. Thank you, Dr. Lauren! Can't endorse them enough and their website provides tremendous resources as well.
June 24 · Chris CaseyCould not have asked for a more beautiful and peaceful experience. Paws Finding Peace was wonderful from the first phone call to picking up our beloved Charlie's ashes. Dr. Carrington was outstanding. He was caring, kind and patient. He guided us through the whole process . Charlie passed comfortably surrounded by his loving family.
July 29 · Susan MurphySaying goodbye to our 12 year old kitty was heartbreaking, but Paws Finding Peace handled everything with such compassion and care. They gently walked us through what to expect, made sure it was peaceful, and followed up afterward to check on us.The vet was incredibly kind and thorough, and the personal touches meant so much—our cat’s paw prints, a clay print, a jar with a fur clipping, and a book about kitty heaven for our daughter. They even sent a heartfelt card and made a donation in her name to a local rescue. In such a sad moment, they brought comfort, dignity, and genuine kindness. We’re so grateful. 💕🐾
May 20 · Amanda HoffmanI had to make the difficult decision to put my baby boy BOBO down. He had been sick for a long time and his body was just giving up on him. We had done food changes, rounds of steroids, anti-nausea medications, chemo and more. After what seemed like a short while of him getting better, he suddenly took a turn for the worst and fast. With the guidance of my vets, we ultimately decided that the kindest thing we could do for him was make things as calm and peaceful as possible. Paws Finding Peace, and Dr. Atkins, made the worst thing a pet parent could go through a bit more peaceful. Dr.Atkins took great care in explaining the process to me, and what to expect, and what not to. This was the first time I have ever gone through this, and BOBO has been my baby since I was 13 years old. Paws Finding Peace did an incredible job making BOBO comfortable, keeping me updated, checking in and even checking in on my other baby Aurora. This place is full of amazing people who clearly understand how much these fur babies mean to their pet parents. I’m so happy I trusted them during BOBO’s final moments and aftercare. The suncatcher I had made shines rainbows around my apartment, making me think about my special boy. Thank you so much for everything your team has done for us. ❤️
