Veterinary Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine Introduce
In the picturesque town of Ivoryton, Connecticut, Veterinary Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine offers a unique and highly specialized approach to pet care. This is not a traditional veterinary clinic; it is a holistic practice dedicated to providing alternative and complementary therapies that work in conjunction with, or sometimes in place of, conventional Western medicine. Led by Dr. Stephanie Torlone, a compassionate and skilled veterinarian, and her team, this women-owned business has become a trusted resource for pet owners seeking gentle, effective treatments for a wide range of conditions. For those who are looking for a different path to improve their pet's quality of life, this clinic provides a vital and often life-changing service.
The core of their practice is a deep commitment to the well-being of the animal, not just the treatment of a disease. This is evident in the profound gratitude expressed by their clients. One customer recounted how the team, including Dr. Torlone and Kellee, were able to win over a "very sassy, geriatric chihuahua mix" and provide amazing support for a young dog with scary seizures. They helped find a treatment that didn't rely on harsh medications, and the client was particularly thankful for the accessibility of the staff, who answered calls and texts "over the weekend and early morning." This level of dedication and personal attention is a defining characteristic of the clinic and a key reason for its loyal following.
Another powerful testament to the clinic's impact is the story of a dog named Willie, who was a patient with seizures. Thanks to the care provided, including Chinese medicine and acupuncture, Willie went over "five months without a single seizure," something his owners "never thought possible." This extended period of health was described as a "gift," highlighting the significant and positive outcomes that are possible with this form of integrative medicine. These personal stories of success underscore the efficacy of the treatments and the genuine care with which they are administered. The team's ability to provide a new lease on life for pets with chronic and difficult-to-manage conditions is a powerful testament to their expertise.
Veterinary Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine specializes in a variety of non-invasive and holistic therapies. Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on a pet's body to stimulate healing and reduce pain. This is often used for pets with arthritis, hip dysplasia, neurological disorders, and chronic pain. Chinese herbal medicine utilizes natural formulas to support pets with conditions like allergies, digestive issues, and skin problems. They also use modern technologies like cold laser therapy, which is known to reduce inflammation and speed up healing, and are a dealer for Back on Track and the Assisi Loop, which are additional therapeutic tools to aid in recovery. This blend of ancient wisdom and modern technology offers a comprehensive approach to pet wellness.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1So thankful for Dr. Torlone and Kellee. I met them years ago with my very sassy, geriatric chihuahua mix with a plethora of issues…somehow, they won even her over. In recent weeks, my young dog has had some very scary seizures and they’ve been amazing in helping find a treatment for him that doesn’t jump straight to meds that have a ton of horrible side effects. Even more, Kellee has been an angel for being so accessible to me any time my dog has something weird happening or I made a mistake with medications. She’s answered both texts and calls over the weekend and early morning…and I don’t think I’d have made it through these past couple of sleep-deprived weeks without her help. THANK YOU!
October 16 · Rachel PopeWe love the care they have provided to our beloved dogs, Cookie and Willie. Cookie, our 13 year-old Bichon Frise, is treated with such gentleness and love. Willie, who passed away two years ago, was also blessed to be in their hands. Stephany and Kelly went above and beyond, treating him with Chinese medicine and acupuncture in an effort to help manage his seizures. Thanks to their care, he went over five months without a single seizure—something we never thought possible. That time was a gift, and it meant the world to us.
April 04 · Cesar A. LecarosI am so thrilled to be a new member of this practice , it is so down to earth . The way vet med used to be before it became corporate . It’s the first time since I left Virginia that I have found a vet the reminds me of my beloved vet back home .I wish I had known of the practice sooner .I have had pretty bad experience with vets in Connecticut since moving here with my Labrador Luke the vet offices make me so anxious in general after dealing with his leg fracture , allergies, paying hundreds for years to find out what’s going on with his ears and never getting answers and just waiting in a corporate waiting room over a hour after appointment to be given the run around but they where so fast to swipe a card . My anxiety is gone and I look forward to any future appointments needed .
September 24 · Paige EspositoGetting treatment the last 3 months for my 14 year old, advanced heart disease chihuahua has been nothing short of awesome. The transformation and genuine improvement that I've seen after getting consistent treatments has been really wonderful to experience.Angus had started having syncope episodes a few months prior to starting acupuncture sessions with Dr. Torlone. The episodes were happening about every 6 weeks, and even though he was managing fairly well with medications/supplements/diet/regular veterinary care alone, I wanted to add consistent acupuncture to his treatment plan. I am very happy that Angus was able to become a patient, because he has gone over 10 weeks now without collapsing which is already a noticeable change to what we've come to anticipate as a new normal. While Angus is already an easy-going chihuahua, he seems to have a really good time coming to Dr. Torlone's comfortable treatment space, and is so sleepy and relaxed after each visit. Dr. Torlone has done a wonderful job tailoring each visit to what Angus can tolerate, and he has improved with each session. I am so grateful to have such a great veterinary team involved with Angus's continued care. Thank you!
March 12 · Natasha HopkinsDr. Torlone and Kellee are both so wonderful and I’m so happy to have found them. Marley gets so excited to come and he is in the best health he has ever been since diagnosed with cancer. He barely coughs anymore since starting acupuncture and Chinese medicine with Dr. Torlone! Thank you so much for all the treats and toys he gets during every visit! Marley can’t wait to go back in a few weeks.
