Kodama Koi Farm Introduce
For many in Hawai‘i, the tranquil beauty of a koi pond is a cherished part of a home or business landscape. The stunning colors and graceful movements of these fish add a sense of peace and a connection to nature. For the dedicated hobbyists and professionals who maintain these aquatic environments, finding a trusted and knowledgeable supplier is paramount. Kodama Koi Farm, a prominent Asian-owned small business located in Mililani, is the premier destination for all things related to Japanese koi and pond care in the Islands. This is not a typical retail pet store but a highly specialized pond fish supplier and a pond supply store that operates with a passion for excellence and a deep-rooted history in the art of raising koi.
The business's reputation is built on its deep expertise and commitment to quality. The owner's family has been involved in the koi business for over 50 years, and their knowledge is a key part of the value they provide. They import authentic, high-quality Japanese koi, hand-selected from top breeders in Japan, and raise them on their 12-acre farm in O‘ahu. This process ensures that the koi are not only beautiful but also healthy and ready for their new homes. As a pond fish supplier, they offer a vast selection of koi, catering to everyone from new hobbyists to professional collectors.
Customer feedback on Kodama Koi Farm is mixed, which is common for a highly specialized and expensive hobby. One enthusiastic customer praises the company's outstanding products and services, highlighting the responsiveness of the staff, particularly Taro, and the beauty and variety of their koi, noting their love for the company's online auctions. This review underscores the business's positive relationships with many of its clients and its commitment to providing expert advice. However, another review expresses deep dissatisfaction, citing health issues with a shipment of koi and expressing frustration with shipping fees. This feedback, while concerning, is important for potential buyers to consider. It highlights the complexities of shipping live animals and the importance of understanding the business's terms and conditions, including their policies on health guarantees and shipping costs, which can be at their discretion. It is a reminder that while the company's overall reputation is strong, with many positive testimonials, a hobbyist must be prepared for the inherent risks and challenges of dealing with live animals.
Kodama Koi Farm is located at 94-840 Lanikuhana Ave, Mililani, HI 96789, USA. As a large-scale operation, this is not a retail shop open for casual visits. The accessibility of this business is focused on a planned, professional interaction. Its location in Mililani makes it relatively easy to get to from many parts of O‘ahu. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Never had Koi pox until I started ordering from Kodama. Now I do. Last two shipments both had other issues with koi health as well. Shipping fees can be rediculous at their discretion. Thank you Kodama. Won’t be ordering anything else from here ever again.
June 09 · P MLove this company!! I can email them to get advice and they really are a great company. Their products and services are outstanding!! Taro is always quick in replying to question on Facebook Messenger too. Their koi are beautiful and can find any type you are looking for. Also love their auctions! Thank you for everything!
July 03 · Kimberly JosephI have been ordering koi from them for over 10+ years. Last year they changed from overnight shipping to 46+ hour shipping (they sent an email to inform their customers...) OVER 85% OF THE FISH I ORDERED ARRIVED DEAD AND DYING DUE TO THEIR IGNORANT DECISION TO CHANGE OVERNIGHT SHIPPING TO 46 HOUR SHIPPING. I had to spend 4 additional hours hunched over our quarantine pond struggling to save the remaining 15 percent. I WAS EXTREMELY UPSET WITH THEIR DECISION TO PUT A SMALL AMOUNT OF ADDITIONAL PROFIT ABOVE THE SAFE ARRIVAL OF THE LIVE ANIMALS THEY HAVE BEEN TRUSTED WITH!!!! WHAT A HORRIBLE PERSON IS MAKING THESE DECISIONS AT KODAMA KOI??? I waited 4 months to leave this review because I was sooooo upset with this company that I have used for almost 16 years. I have lost all faith in KODAMA KOI and recommend you find another supplier if you want your fish to arrive alive and healthy. I lost almost $4,000.00 on my last order, it is not about the money. These people have a responsibility to properly care for these living creatures and they choose to change their FedEx overnight shipping to 2 day shipping causing their fish to arrive DOA. I didn't call requesting a reship or refund because I was so upset dealing with a large bag filled with dying and dead fish. SHAME ON KODAMA FOR PUTTING A INSIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF SHIPPING COST BEFORE THE ANIMALS YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR! I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM YOU AGAIN AND I HOPE EVERYONE READING THIS WILL DO THE SAME.
July 15 · Justin ZellerAlways had the best of service and good quality fish when dealing with Kodama. From their auctions to their fixed price and including their tosai sales, I’ve done it all and had fun doing so. Build a second pond and have developed a healthy obsession right in my backyard.
November 20 · ann millerMy ginrin Kohaku koi is so beautiful, Team are so nice and respectful. Fedex is faster enough, I'm very happy and going back again. Japanese Koi quality and healthy Koi fish. Highly recommended. Michael ,Boston
