June 15, 2025: Today, I had a deeply disappointing experience at Kriser’s in Park Ridge, Illinois, which I feel compelled to share to help other pet owners make informed decisions.Upon arrival, I was informed that my dog could not be groomed due to an expired rabies vaccination. I explained that I had already uploaded the current vaccination records through the online booking portal. After some back and forth, the staff realized that the expired record was for a different dog in my profile—not the one scheduled for grooming. This confusion could have been avoided with a more careful review of the records on their part.During the grooming session, I received a call informing me that my dog had experienced anxiety, defecated twice in the crate, and that I would be charged an additional cleaning fee. I was also asked to pick her up immediately due to her distress. This was unexpected, as I had administered her prescribed anxiety medication prior to the appointment specifically to help her remain calm.When I arrived to pick her up, I was dismayed to find that the grooming was incomplete. Her paws had not been trimmed, the hair under her mouth was still dirty, and there were several uneven patches of fur throughout her body—particularly around her tail and legs. The grooming appeared rushed and lacked attention to detail. I was told that she was uncooperative, which was surprising given that she had previously been groomed at this same location without issue, and with excellent results, by a different groomer.At checkout, I was initially charged an incorrect, higher price, which I had to point out before it was corrected. I was also informed that my file indicated a requirement for “express grooming,” which must be booked first thing in the morning. However, I was never made aware of this policy, and the online booking system does not offer this option. When I raised this concern, I was told I should have called to book—undermining the purpose and convenience of the online platform.Additionally, I was charged $36 for two crate cleanings, on top of the full grooming price—even though the grooming was not completed. This felt unreasonable and inconsistent with the quality of service provided. Most customers would reasonably expect a price adjustment or partial refund in such a situation, especially when the service falls significantly short of expectations.Overall, this experience reflected a clear lack of professionalism, poor communication, and substandard customer service. What should have been a routine grooming appointment turned into a stressful and frustrating ordeal—not only for me but, more importantly, for my pet. I left the store feeling disappointed, concerned for my dog’s well-being, and disheartened by the lack of accountability shown by the staff.As a pet owner, I believe grooming services should be grounded in a few essential values: clear and respectful communication, attention to detail, compassion for animals, and a commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality care. Unfortunately, these values were noticeably absent during my visit.I hope this feedback encourages meaningful improvements at this location for the benefit of future clients and, most importantly, their pets.

I recently adopted a Shih Tzu and discovered he has allergies to chicken and other proteins. He's also an extremely finicky eater 😂. For a few days, he hasn't been finishing his meals. I called the store ahead of time and spoke with a knowledgeable and patient representative. I decided to visit the store immediately. Upon arrival, I was thrilled to see the vast array of options available. A staff member named Jenny assisted me in addressing my dog's food allergies and other issues. She was remarkably friendly, attentive, and helpful, patiently answering my numerous questions. She recommended the Signature Kangaroo brand, ideal for picky eaters, and provided guidance on transitioning his diet. Today, my dog enjoyed a complete meal. I highly recommend this store to fellow pet owners. I'm eager to return soon.

I am over the moon happy with Kriser’s daycare! My Archie has a full day of games, dog play, enrichment(treat puzzles) and positive interactions with staff. Monica (current manager) has moved mountains in the short time she has been in this location. The current staff is attentive, present and “must love dogs” because Archie can’t get in there fast enough. Thank you, Monica, Jenna, Amy, Marcus, Cassandra, Carol, Laurie, Gina and anyone else I’ve missed. You are appreciated. With all of the challenges life brings, I’m grateful that quality daycare is one less thing I have to worry about.
