The store's accessibility features, including wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking, make it a convenient choice for all members of the community. For some, the convenience of the store’s location, its vast selection, and its helpful service options may outweigh these concerns. For others, the reported issues with customer service might be a major factor in their decision-making process. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Since 2005, I have been purchasing cat litter at Petco, always bringing the same old bucket that originally came with cat litter purchased at a supermarket. Today, as usual, I came to refill this bucket at the Petco store 1610 Ave Y, Brooklyn, NY 11235. At the register there was a misunderstanding, and the cashier told me that my bucket was non-standard and charged me $23 and some cents. I asked why it was so expensive. She explained that my bucket was larger. I suggested paying for the extra pounds at the regular per-pound price. She replied that she did not know how much one pound of litter costs.I then walked over to the bin where the litter is stored to find out the price. As I was returning to the register, a young man wearing a name tag “Stephan” stormed at me. He started shouting at me, accusing me of harassing the cashier. I tried to ask him a question, but he very rudely said he was not going to answer my questions. He angrily grabbed my bucket from my cart, went to the bin, dumped the litter out of it, and threw the bucket on the floor. Then, refusing to speak further with me, he walked away.I went back to the cashier and asked her if she felt I had harassed her, so that I could apologize if she thought so. She told me that she did not feel harassed at all. I then asked her to call the manager so I could file a complaint about the young man’s behavior. The same young man reappeared and told me to leave the store, claiming he had the right to refuse service at his own discretion.Such behavior is inadmissible under any circumstances. But treating an 80-year-old customer in this way is absolutely outrageous and deeply troubling.I have not experienced such rudeness in over 35 years. It is very sad that individuals with such behavior are allowed to work in customer service.
August 25 · Mem berI’m giving 2 stars because the staff was nice, but I’m really disappointed with the service. I paid a total of $93.62 for my dog to be bathed, including the upgraded routine care option and the shed release treatment (not the basic one). I specifically brought her in because she’s shedding her winter coat and I didn’t want hair all over the house. While I noticed some hair on her in the store, I didn’t think much of it at the time. But once I got home, I brushed her for less than 30 seconds in one spot on her back, and it was still full of loose hair. It’s clear the shed treatment wasn’t effective. What did they do with my dog for that hour?At the very least, I’d like a refund, because I honestly don’t see where that service made any difference. Will edit my review and add more stars when and if this problem is resolved.
April 05 · ManuelReally great place to pick up supplies for my pets. A bird, various fish came in sick and died. But I also had some birds that came healthy. Various of the fish I got survived and lived a long time. This is with me having a proper eco system, plants, places to hide, proper food intake and chemicals for purifying water and stress relief. The bird that was sick was returned and we got a refund but I never went back for the fish 🐟The service is great!
February 18 · SamThis store made life a lot easier. From the first day it opened, it has become much easier to buy anything for your pets. the range is huge. haircut pharmacy everything you might need. the staff is quite friendly and qualified. The location and sufficient parking make it convenient to visit. very good decision
November 04 · dmitriy oleynikWent in specifically for Nature vet Hemp calming drops for my cats, but there were hardly any Nature vet products on the shelves. There weren't many of these type of products on the shelves at all. So had to settle for a gel type calming product, and asked at te register of it can be returned if it doesn't work and the very nice woman at the register said it can with receipt. So here's to hoping it does! 🤞
