When considering Banfield Pet Hospital, it is important to weigh both the positive and negative feedback from customers. What is worth choosing about this hospital is its strong emphasis on preventive care through their Optimum Wellness Plans, which can make regular veterinary visits more manageable financially. This proactive approach can lead to better long-term health for your pet. One customer's positive review highlights a successful surgical outcome for their pug, praising the staff's professionalism and pleasantness, and commending their communication and availability. This experience speaks to the quality of care that can be received at this location. However, a different customer's review brings to light a very serious concern regarding the hospital’s willingness to treat a condition like a bladder stone, despite a long-standing wellness plan. This type of experience raises questions about the scope of care provided and the limitations of their services. While it is important to acknowledge both perspectives, Banfield remains a popular choice for many due to its convenience, wide range of services for routine care, and the financial predictability that comes with its wellness plans. For pet owners seeking a reliable partner for regular check-ups, vaccinations, and general wellness, Banfield offers a structured approach that can be very effective. It is always wise to inquire about a specific medical condition's treatment protocol upfront to ensure they are the right fit for your pet's particular needs, especially if they have a known chronic issue.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This pet hospital is wonderful. My pug has had a very large and thankfully benign tumor removed here and she pulled through with a short healing time. The staff is very pleasant and I put my trust in the hands of the vets on duty and all is good. My dog has never come out sad or smelly! I’m thankful that they have plenty of availability and excellent phone communication. Ty! Millie says hi!
May 01 · Candy KempseyWe took our Dog to a ER vet this week because she was unable to urinate. When she did urinate a little it was blood. The ER vet did a X-ray and an ultrasound and saw a bladder stone and an infection. They prescribed antibiotics and said to follow up with our vet at Banfield. We have had a wellness plan for 7 years with Banfield. When my wife called Banfield for the follow up visit she was told that they don’t treat that and we would have to go to a Specialist. We called the ER Vet that diagnosed her with the infection and bladder stone and he said that your vet at Banfield is absolutely wrong and should be involved in the treatment plan for our dog. In the meantime our dog is still urinating blood and we pay Banfield for nothing. How can Banfield treat a pet like this.
August 19 · Brian O'SullivanBanfield of Nanuet is AMAZING!! My beautiful baby boy Theo passed this past Wednesday and I don’t know how we would’ve made it through if it wasn’t for them! Every step of the way they were so attentive and so careful with us at such a delicate and sensitive time. Dr Hlaing has an angelic bedside manner and was so great about comforting us while still being realistic and honest with us. I wish I could remember the nurse’s name, but I want her to know how much she comforted me and relieved me of all the guilt I felt for possibly not doing right by my baby with his diet in his last days. Overall, from the front desk staff, to the nurse and doctor, I’m so glad Theo lived his life being cared for at Banfield of Nanuet and I’d recommend anyone to take their pets to them for the best possible loving compassionate care they can get!! Thank you again Banfield!! Theo was so blessed to have you all, and so are we!!(Picture of my big boy attached for attention!!)

March 13 · Jey LinkBeyond frustrated, I've been calling them for 2 hours now and no one will answer the phone. This happens all the time and its so frustrated. If your that under staff, that you can't pickup the phone then its fine to hire some new people. This will be at least the 5th time ive had to drive there because they refuse to pick up their phone. ..........Below is an old postMost of the people there are very nice. Their are a couple that have horrible attitudes and god forbid you ask them a question. For the most part they have been great with my dog but you can never get someone to pick up the phone. I've had to drive there, which is 15 minutes from my house, just to make an appointment. I called to try to get an ETA for my dog, I had to press 0 more than 10 times before someone actually answered. You have to keep pressing 0 to have it keep ringing their phone. So unprofessional.. Then they get upset if you try to find out what's going on with your animal. If they are that under staffed to the point they can't answer their phone, then hire more people. Dont get upset when someone calls to try to find out what's going on with their animal and when they will be ready for you to pick up your animal..Im considering changing my vet.
