If I could give zero stars, I would. You have very two Heartbroken people. People who awaited and planned time off from work to come to this adoption event. Who read a bio on animals online, We fell in love with and wanted to meet. Animals that had cards saying this animal really needs your help! Apparently, none of these animals really need help or the staff just does not care. There was more than adequate staff. We saw multiple staff members standing around doing nothing or on their phones on computers. Only one in the cat room when there was four people by the front desk, only two of which were taking people at the computer. We waited over 3 HOURS! To sit down with someone to talk about adoption when my friend is already preapproved to adopt an animal. We understood having to sit down and go through the preapproval process again but not making people wait over three hours until 4 o’clock when the shelter is only staying open for another half an hour, and we still haven’t sat down with someone. We never got to meet any of the dogs we looked at online! Not even one glance. The woman behind the desk was heartless and could not care less that we were awaiting patiently for over hours. When we first got there, there was three people ahead of us, and even after three hours there was still three people ahead of us. The second we mentioned, we wanted to adopt potentially a cat because you can walk into the cat room. It was apparent the volunteer was overwhelmed by herself while again there was other volunteers freely available. The cat that we wanted to look at all of a sudden, had other families swarming in front of the cage, trying to see the animal first. Have you ever felt mobbed because you wanted to look at an animal you want to adopt and have the one volunteer turn their head? You’re not supposed to take the cat out of the cage, but yet binxy boo was running around the floor. It was disorganized and it was heartbreaking. We are greatly upset with how disorganized this event was run when you knew you were planning, said event. I think the final straw that broke the camels back, Was seeing a male volunteer go in and take photos with a professional camera of a cat in the cat room presumably to list online. You have time for your volunteer to take pictures to list more animals to adopt yet you don’t have time to sit down with people who have been there for three hours trying to adopt an animal that again “really needs our help.” I really hope these animals do find good homes, but I don’t understand how any of these dogs are actually going to get adopted when people have to wait over three hours and still not even have the chance to sit down with someone and talk to get preapproved when someone’s already been preapproved And not ever even getting to see or interact with the dog itself. We really hope Dan finds a good home. The shelter is clean, That’s the only positive I can say. The staff seem like they don’t care and they are overwhelmed. They don’t care if this animal could be adopted and find their forever home. You’re just told to keep waiting and waiting until closing time. We asked since it was closing time if we would be first on the list the next day if we showed up in the morning. The lady at the desk who again could care less. Stated that it’s a first come first serve basis and even if we got there tomorrow, there’s still no guarantee. You had us wait for over three hours. Yet, if we show up tomorrow, we don’t get the chance to sit down with someone? We just go back on the same paper list. You write down again? Again, it seems like these volunteers could care less about these animals especially the dogs actually finding homes to go home to. But they will kindly take their time to accept people’s donations as I saw people coming in to make donations, and it was nothing but smiles and pleasantries. But if you wanna adopt you get treated like you’re a nuisance. Don’t have an adoption event if you don’t actually plan on adopting out the animals. Couldn’t even meet one dog! THREE HOURS! DO BETTER!

I was assisting City of Boston Animal Care and Control. We brought a pitbull and rat to the Noble Famoly for adoption. They do an amazing job there. The staff is amazing and knowledgeable.
