★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I've been to many vets in my life. This was the first time I've seen a detailed care plan with a high and low-cost estimate given to the pet-parent before doing any treatments. Absolutely brilliant way of conducting a pet-friendly and wallet-savvy business. In addition, the care given was relaxed and well orchestrated. The front desk was wonderfully helpful as well, being able to squeeze us in since we were 5 min and a day early. Highly recommend, would go back. LGBT friendly.
June 16 · Asa PThe vets here are wonderful. Everyone on their staff is pleasant and helpful. I feel my animals are in very knowledgeable hands when I come in. They are patient with my questions and always willing to go the extra mile to help keep my babies healthy. I highly recommend them.
June 25 · Tina AndrulisI originally left Northampton Vet a five-star review, but after recently reading through my dog’s medical records, I’ve had to revise it to a one-star—because what I found was completely unacceptable.I brought my Belgian Malinois here a few years ago under the impression that a specific doctor was a specialist. However, I was shocked to discover that my dog’s records contain multiple inaccurate and misleading statements that completely misrepresented both his behavior and my own actions as his owner. One note stated that my dog was "showing aggression" toward me and my mother, which is categorically false. While he did have anxiety and once escaped his crate, he never once displayed aggression toward either of us. I had repeatedly asked for help managing his anxiety while my husband was stationed away in the service, even requesting Prozac based on his professional experience as a MILITARY K9 handler, speaking with vets on his base. Instead of being met with support, I was dismissed and even told I should consider rehoming my dog.Another fabricated note claimed he exhibited "alert barking with a muzzle on when eye contact made." My dog always wore a fully wrapped leather muzzle during visits, and he has never barked at someone simply for making eye contact. These mischaracterizations paint a concerning picture of how this practice handles certain breeds. The final straw was an appointment where I was left as asked while my muzzled and leashed dog was taken outside. From behind the fence, I watched with my father as four vet techs surrounded him as if he were a possible threat—despite him sitting like normal, waiting for his shot. The excessive handling and unnecessary fear-mongering turned vet visits into a traumatic experience for him.Since leaving Northampton Vet, my Malinois has had a completely different experience at a new office—one where he no longer even requires a muzzle. The new staff listened, provided appropriate care, and made him feel safe. The stark contrast in treatment between this office and my current one is undeniable.Additionally, my dog's MDR1 genetic test results were sent directly to this office multiple times, yet they repeatedly claimed they had no records. I still have the email chain proving otherwise. The level of disorganization and negligence in record-keeping is alarming. The breed prejudice, the inaccurate documentation, and the dismissive attitude toward owners trying to advocate for their dogs are deeply concerning. If Northampton Vet had taken the time to listen rather than label, my dog could have received the proper care from the start. For an update—if this office even cares—I still have my two dogs, have since rescued a third, and my husband is home. My Malinois is now off fluoxetine and doing perfectly fine.Thank you for making me feel like I was the problem when, in reality, it was your practice. I once rated this office five stars, but after uncovering the truth in my dog’s records, I am changing it to one star. I would strongly caution anyone considering bringing their pet here—especially if you own a working breed. I thought discrimination didn't exist in Northampton, clearly I was wrong.
March 26 · Darien NardiWhen my husband called to let me know he had found 2 abandoned 5-week old kittens outside of his office in Springfield, my first thought was to call NVC. The staff and vets at NVC were so thorough, kind, and gave us everything we needed to take care of Rosie and Xena. Xena had some facial trauma, and they jumped into action right away, showing us how to syringe feed her and make sure she was getting water and food. I'm happy to say that with their help, Rosie and Xena are now 9 months old, healthy and thriving! Thank you so much for helping us take care of our babies, I couldn't imagine life without them now!
April 05 · Eileen SmithI moved up this way and was seeking a new veterinarian for my puppy, Bowser. I didn't have great experiences prior, but I am happy to put my trust in this hospital. Dr. Lori Paporello and Dr. Madison Smith were both great. They know their stuff!
