Hope Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners in Brooklyn, finding a veterinary practice that provides a wide range of services under one roof is a significant convenience. Hope Animal Hospital, located on Atlantic Avenue, positions itself as a comprehensive solution for your pet's health and wellness needs. Beyond being a standard animal hospital and veterinarian, they also offer pet boarding and grooming services, creating a one-stop-shop for many New Yorkers. The hospital's mission is to provide complete, compassionate care, ensuring that pets are not only healthy but also comfortable and well-cared for in all aspects of their lives.
The experience at Hope Animal Hospital can be a mixed bag, as evidenced by a contrast in customer reviews. One positive review from a first-time client highlighted an "incredible" service, noting a free initial check-up and the provision of "goodies" for their kitten. This speaks to a welcoming and generous approach that can make new clients feel valued and appreciated. It's the kind of personal touch that makes a pet's first vet visit a positive and memorable experience for both the animal and the owner. This positive sentiment is further reinforced by the fact that the kitten loved the place, which is a key indicator of a fear-free, stress-reduced environment.
However, another review details a frustrating experience involving a last-minute cancellation of a long-awaited appointment, with a stated reason that contradicts their appointment-booking process. This highlights a potential area for improvement in communication and professionalism, which is a common pain point for many service-based businesses, especially in a busy city like New York. The sudden cancellation and the lack of a clear, consistent policy can understandably lead to disappointment and a loss of trust. For New Yorkers with busy schedules, clear and reliable communication from a business is paramount.
Hope Animal Hospital is located at 390 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11217, USA. The hospital has made an effort to ensure accessibility for all clients, as the facility includes a wheelchair-accessible restroom. While the exact parking situation is not detailed, being on a main avenue in Brooklyn means that clients should be prepared for typical street parking availability. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I took my kitten for a full body check up. This is my first time experiencing vet hospital and the service was incredible. The very first checkup for pets was free with no cost. Even my kitten loved that place.Prior to our leaving, the provided a lot of goodies for my cat. Will definitely visit there soon
May 22 · Sanjida PritiI scheduled an appointment for my kittens the first week of August, set for August 22. After waiting several weeks, I received a text less than 24 hours before the appointment stating it was canceled because they “don’t see new clients on the weekend.”This is extremely disappointing and unprofessional. If that was the case, it should have been addressed at the time of booking, not right before the appointment. The sudden cancellation feels like more than just a scheduling error. After reading other reviews, I now see this may have been a blessing in disguise. I will not be rescheduling. Do better!
August 23 · Peace aka wandiesha LoveI cannot recommend this veterinary clinic, especially for cats. My partner and I recently brought our four-year-old cat here for a wellness check after moving from Philadelphia. She's typically a bit timid and was understandably anxious, having not been to a vet in a while. Our previous veterinarian in Philadelphia always approached her gently, at her level, and offered treats before any examination – a standard we, perhaps naively, expected everywhere. What we experienced at this clinic was shocking. When our cat was taken from her carrier, she immediately sought refuge in a corner. Instead of coaxing her out, a staff member roughly grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and placed her on the scale. While we found this alarming, we tried to trust their judgment. However, things escalated quickly. With our cat visibly distressed and irritated, they proceeded to cover her with a towel and pin her down. This caused an extreme reaction; she became incredibly agitated, exhibiting behavior we had never witnessed from her before. The veterinarian then informed us that to proceed with the examination and vaccinations, they would need US to place her back in her crate. At this point, we were appalled and deeply concerned for our cat's well-being. We immediately decided to leave and made arrangements for her vaccinations at another clinic. Witnessing our beloved pet being handled so roughly and experiencing such fear was truly an awful experience. She was visibly shaken and unlike herself for several days afterward. It's clear that not all veterinary practices prioritize gentle, compassionate care for animals. We would not wish this kind of treatment on any pet, and we strongly advise against bringing your cat here.
July 12 · Lily MelloI’m a new owner of cat just adopted from shelter. I had good experience with my first vet visit with them. I wasn’t sure how it will be and worried before, but Dr. Shang lee was well explained and advised me many things. Also they called me to check how my cat doing after. I was appreciated and felt supported. My baby, he is doing well. Thank you.
May 24 · Nao YACC (Nyc shelter system) has a collaboration with VCA for a first wellness visit after adoption. I brought my boy there, sooner after since he was developing some kind of cold. I was quite impressed with their staff, professionalism, and amenities. When he developed another issue a month or so later, i brought him back here as he hasnt been to our usual vet office before and these guys have his records. It was a very positive experience and easy to make same day visits when i called in the early morning. If you get an early morning appointment, it possible to get tests results back in the same dayI found the follow up emails and calls to be very comprehensive, and never felt rushed. Ive been considering bringing my other kids (2 dogs and 2 cats) here in the future. Prices felt a bit higher than i was used to, but I dont mind due to the care recieved. They were very transparent with the itemized bill.
