★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Show me your policy on mice. I had read years ago that live mice are not sold for food.I have gotten 3 mice that died because they were too young. Again today the mice you have are so small and too young to survive. They are kept in large numbers and male mice fight once they hit maturity so can not be kept in groups. What is your policy now about selling mice as food. The people who want them as pets are sold mice that die. There are no other stores that have the supplies for mice that your store does. I drove very far to get to your store to get what I needed for my mice.Aren't there rules for how many can be in a tank? I was told people who want these young mice are called when they come in.What is your policy for selling live mice as feeders? Why are you allowed to sell mice too young to thrive?Petco has a problem with the welfare of their animals and selling mice as pets that die because they are too young and kept in terrible conditions.Written June 11, 2025Why do you keep selling pets as as food even though it is against the company's policy? This store has a mouse section that holds too many mice. The males fight once they hit maturity so where do they go?I just picked up a male mouse perched on top of the water bottle because of the conditions he lived in.I was told for the first time in all my years to keep my reciept in case my mouse dies.i had gotten 3 others that died because they were much too young. I was not told to hold my reciept last year. This is my 4th review on Petco being inhumane to the mice.Your hamsters are not kept in such conditions.I was asked at check out if this mouse was for food or as a pet!-‐------------------------------------------------------I read that Petco's policy is not to sell live animals like mice as food.I was just there and this time and for the first time I was asked at checkout if I am buying them for food or as a pet.Why is that? You still have way too many in a tank with not enough foodAll the mice look very young. I hope mine are old enough to survive.Others I have gotten from Petco that looked this young I crushed and wetted their food.Train your staff not to pick them up by the tail. It hurts them. Proper handling is so basic.--‐----‐------------------------------------------------*The next part of my review was posted last month.Your habitat for mice is horrible. So crowded in each tank with mice and they are miserable. Aren't there laws that say how much space an animal must have.Your employee shirts now have a picture of a happy mouse.Get it together. That is not enough space or food for that many mice. Your mice die after purchase because they are not cared for here and usually too young.
August 29 · Carrie TamburroWhen I went into Petco today the store has a strong nasty odor I almost had to walk back out, if it wasn’t for me needing to get things I wouldn’t of shopped. when I walked by the guinea pigs there were house flies in the cage flying on the animals. The person that checked me out was nice, but Mike always seems to have an attitude. I will not be returning until things change!
September 12 · E MatthewsThe employee I had was SO kind. I brought my foster, who is extremely nervous, in the store to get some toys and a new leash. The employee was very gentle, and understanding. She offered treats and kind words. Not only did we get what we came for, but my girl was seen and appreciated exactly as she is! I will come back again as the employee agreed if we keep making experiences good, she wont stay so nervous. Thank you if you ever see this .
July 03 · Angela SamperiToday was the second time I had difficult time getting 12 small crickets from this employee. She seemed put out to have to bag crickets for me. She wanted me to buy a bag with 24 crickets that have been there all day. Every pet store has told me not to leave them in the bag for more than an hour. Makes no sense. The younger employees have always been pleasant and happy to help. This heavy set woman was not. I will go to Petsmart from now on. They don't seem put out to help me and are always happy to get my 12 crickets.
August 15 · anthony derosaMy dog had an appointment for vaccinations. The vet and helpers were great with my dog. They showed respect for her. I wouldn't hesitate to take her back there. A couple years ago she had her claws clipped with them and she cooperated. She doesn't cooperate with me.My only problem is the clinic is 50 miles away.
