★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Vinegar Hill Vet has provided excellent care for my dog over the past few years, from routine visits to emergency care. All the staff are extremely kind and helpful, and the techs and doctors are thorough, knowledgeable, and provide lots of pets and treats! In fact, my dog tries to go into the office whenever we walk past. I have never had an issue getting an appointment when needed, and we are always seen promptly. Thank you, Vinegar Hill Vet!!
August 01 · Lucinda SiskIf you're considering taking your pet to Columbia Place Vet/Vingar Hill Vet group, I strongly urge you to reconsider.I had a deeply disappointing experience with this clinic involving both of my dogs. My previous dog was misdiagnosed here, and it wasn't until I sought a second opinion at the Animal Medical Center (AMC) -- using the same X-rays taken at Columbia Place -- that he was correctly diagnosed with cancer. Thankfully, my instincts told me to get another opinion, and AMC provided the proper care he needed. It was also clear that my dog was extremely uncomfortable at this clinic. Every time they took him to the back, he would return visibly distressed and frightened. My current dog didn't fare much better. He was overmedicated to the point of being sedated and urinating on himself -- given morphine for a condition that didn't seem to warrant such strong medication. While Dr. Neuman is the only vet at this clinic I found to be competent, she can be inconsistent in demeanor, making appointments unpredictable. The clinic also seems more focused on profit than care. They frequently tacked on unnecessary charges and pushed treatments that felt excessive. Even loyal, long-time clients like myself were charged an extra $100 for same-day appointments, which is unreasonable. The vet techs were unprofessional -- I could hear them making comments about clients behind the doors, which is both inappropriate and unkind. The only reason I stayed as long as I did was because of Vonnie, the front desk receptionist, who is genuinely warm and helpful.Ultimately, I'm glad I found a new vet who puts the care of the animal first. I've learned it's not about convenience -- it's about finding a veterinary team that prioritizes your pet's well-being over profit, and treats clients with compassion and respect.
July 30 · Lotus145TLDR: Charged for services I did not ask for. And after assurances on resolution, still have not heard back for weeks. So, I tried to resolve this situation directly with VH, but despite contact with their office assuring a response, and someone else on their staff reaching out to me assuring the same, I have heard absolutely nothing. We have been with this practice for a while and they seemed pretty capable. But post pandemic, it seems that profit motive has overtaken care and integrity. On 2/27 I asked for the Lyme vaccine. I was told that my dog did not need the Lyme vaccine. Then she received the flu vaccine, which I did not ask for. This was despite the fact that I had emailed beforehand detailing the vaccines we needed. I sent a very specific list. But the Doctor insisted on charging us for a vaccine that I did not ask for. Then, once I called after reviewing my receipt, I was told my boxer would receive the Lyme vaccine the next time we came free of charge (which was actually not free bc we paid for the flu vaccine we did not need nor ask for). This is captured on text. The first portion of the Lyme vaccine should have been administered when we came recently for another visit. That was supposed to be in her records. I forgot to ask, and it was not done. When I circled back, two different people reached out and said someone would reach out for resolution. That was weeks ago. I'm not sure what's changed with management or the professional staff, but this is not the same practice it was a few years ago. Once they have your credit card, they will charge first and explain later. On the same visit in Feb, we were also charged for a fecal panel that I specifically declined beforehand. Try at your own risk. And certainly don't put your card on file there.

From being greeted with a smile and a treat at reception by the lovely Fani, to the knowledgeable, patient and passionate doctors and nurses, this is the best veterinary group in the city. A special shoutout to Dr. Sara Neuman who met with me and my pup earlier — you rock!
