Sleepy Dog Veterinary Introduce
For pet owners in Arlington, Massachusetts, and surrounding communities like Belmont and Cambridge, finding veterinary care that is both comprehensive and deeply compassionate is a top priority. Sleepy Dog Veterinary, a women-owned business, offers a truly unique approach to animal health by specializing in integrative medicine. This means they blend the best of conventional veterinary practices with a variety of alternative therapies to provide a holistic and highly personalized approach to caring for dogs, cats, and even guiding their owners through difficult decisions. The name itself, Sleepy Dog, reflects the clinic's mission to create a calm and comfortable environment for pets and their people, where every patient feels at ease and well-cared for.
This is not your average vet clinic. Sleepy Dog Veterinary is a place where every animal is treated as an individual, and the focus is on a complete picture of health and well-being. The team, including the highly praised Dr. Beth Innis and Dr. Chagit Steiner, goes "above and beyond" to get to the root of a problem, rather than simply treating symptoms. This dedication to finding a solution is a significant reason why clients "rave about them to anyone they know." The practice is built on a foundation of empathy, with staff who truly understand the bond between humans and their animal companions. This is particularly evident in their approach to long-term chronic disease management and end-of-life care, where kindness and support are just as important as medical expertise.
The philosophy of integrative medicine is a central tenet of the practice. Instead of relying on a single treatment modality, they offer a combination of therapies that can be tailored to each pet's specific needs. This can be especially beneficial for animals with chronic pain or mobility issues, for whom traditional medicine may not provide enough relief. The clinic also places a strong emphasis on education, providing pet parents with the tools and knowledge they need to be active participants in their pet's health. The trust and rapport built between the staff and their clients are a testament to this collaborative approach, making Sleepy Dog Veterinary a cherished resource in the local community.
Located at 114 Massachusetts Ave, Arlington, MA 02474, Sleepy Dog Veterinary is situated in a convenient and central part of town. This thoughtful consideration for clients' needs is a key feature of the business. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If I could give Sleepy Dog 6 stars, I would! Dr. Steiner has taken the best care of our kitties. The front desk is always so kind and helpful. I never have to wait long for a call back, you can really tell how much not only the veterinarians, but the entire staff, cares about their patients ❤️
August 15 · Emily HartshornCan't believe it's taken me this long to write a review as I rave about them to anyone I know. I first stumbled upon them when my elderly dog needed physical therapy and ended up becoming a patient. The owner, Dr. Beth is one of the kindest human beings I've ever met and was an invaluable support for end of life care with my first dog. My two dogs now are patients there with Dr. Steiner, who is also fantastic. She goes above and beyond to help troubleshoot and get down to the root of the problem. The staff at Sleepy Dog is great at making you feel like your dog is their only patient. I can't say enough good things about them.
July 06 · Emily DeutschmanMy dog Blue had his first appointment with Dr. Innis today and it was absolutely wonderful. He’s only 5 and already has osteoarthritis due to a congenital health issue. I wanted to find a place that would help support him and provide treatments to keep him comfortable in the most non-invasive way possible. I was blown away by the amount of care the team at Sleepy Dog showed Blue. He’s normally so stressed at vet visits but he was so much calmer here 💙. I can really tell they love animals and care about their overall wellbeing. Thank you so much Sleepy Dog Team for seeing Blue today! I’m so grateful!
June 14 · RachelLove this place! The staff is kind, patient, and thoughtful...my baby is a bit...difficult...and I am greatful.
August 30 · Amma AbabioBoth Jack and Trent have been patients at Sleepy Dog. Everyone we have seen there (Dr Beth, Dr Jenny, Sam, Meghan, and Chris) have been wonderful, attentive, and caring. Jack has benefitted from acupuncture, chiropractic, and massage and Dr Beth helped us with a referral for treament that Sleepy Dog could not provide. Trent has just started treatment and after a single acupuncture session is feeling very much on top of the world.I cannot say enough good things about Sleepy Dog Veterinary. They are awesome!
