Tranquil Paws Veterinary specializes in a range of holistic and complementary services, focusing on an integrative approach to pet health. Dr. Barotz works in conjunction with your pet’s primary veterinarian to create a comprehensive treatment plan.
- Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine: This is a cornerstone of the practice. Services include acupuncture treatments, aqua acupuncture, and the use of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and Chinese herbal medicine to provide a non-invasive and effective approach to a variety of conditions.
- Pain Management and Rehabilitative Therapy: The practice focuses on managing chronic pain, particularly for conditions like hip dysplasia. They offer rehabilitative therapy and a Class IV therapy laser (Companion Therapy Laser) for pain relief, healing, and inflammation reduction.
- Diagnostics and Consultations: While specializing in alternative therapies, the practice also offers medical diagnostics and diagnostic testing to understand the full scope of a pet's health. Consultation appointments are available to discuss a pet's condition and to formulate a primary treatment plan.
- Support for Chronic Diseases and End-of-Life Care: They provide ongoing care for the management of chronic diseases, offering therapies that help with conditions such as cancer and urinary tract infections. The practice also offers compassionate palliative and end-of-life care, including home visits, to ensure pets are comfortable during their final moments.
The unique features of Tranquil Paws Veterinary are what make it a highly recommended choice for pet owners seeking alternative options for their pets' health.
- Compassionate and Empathetic Care: As one pet owner shared, Dr. Barotz’s level of compassion and understanding is extraordinary, particularly during difficult times. She treated a pet with T-Cell Lymphoma, providing not only excellent care but also emotional support for the owner, making the difficult journey more bearable.
- Expertise in Integrative Medicine: Dr. Barotz is highly knowledgeable in holistic and traditional Chinese medicine, which allows her to offer treatments that go beyond conventional Western medicine. A client with a dog with hypothyroidism praised her ability to get to the root of the problem, a solution other vets could not find. This expertise is a significant benefit for pets with complex or chronic conditions.
- Valuable Partnership with Primary Vets: The practice is designed to work as a valuable part of a pet's healthcare team. By collaborating with a pet's regular veterinarian, Dr. Barotz can provide complementary treatments that enhance a pet's well-being without replacing essential Western medical practices. This team approach ensures the best possible outcome for the pet.
- Dedicated to Quality of Life: The main mission is to help pets live a pain-free life for as long as possible. The focus on supportive supplements, dietary recommendations, and alternative therapies provides a measure of comfort that may not be achieved through traditional methods alone.

Tranquil Paws Veterinary Reviews
I had the great pleasure of meeting Dr. Sharon Barotz while researching options for my beloved dog Sadie. Sadie was diagnosed with Mycosis Fungoides, which is a T-Cell Lymphoma. Dogs suffering with this form of skin cancer are given very grim prognoses and survival rates are very bleak. Equipped with this knowledge, I was on a mission to help Sadie live as long, and as pain free, as possible. Determining chemo was not a viable option for us; I stumbled upon Tranqquil Paws Veterinary’s website. I was impressed right from the start with not only Dr. Barotz’s very thorough exam of Sadie, but of her level of understanding and compassion for what I was going through as well. She became a valuable part of our team, and working together with our veterinarian, Dr. Barotz gave Sadie a measure of comfort I don’t believe we would have achieved otherwise. Through her implemented treatment plan of supportive supplements and dietary recommendations, Sadie’s condition stayed relatively nonreactive for an extended period of time. I can’t thank her enough for her extraordinary care and counsel, whether in office or via email. Although devastated when the day came to say goodbye to my girl, it was with a measure of comfort knowing we did all we could, for as long as we could.
