VCA Blackstone Valley Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners in Uxbridge and the wider Blackstone Valley region of Massachusetts, finding a reliable, full-service animal hospital is a cornerstone of responsible pet ownership. VCA Blackstone Valley Animal Hospital, located at 615 Douglas St, is a trusted local institution that has served the community for decades. As a comprehensive animal hospital, they provide a wide range of services, encompassing everything from routine preventative care and urgent medical needs to boarding and grooming. Their commitment to offering a complete spectrum of care under one roof makes them a convenient and valuable resource for Massachusetts pet owners, ensuring that their animal companions receive consistent, high-quality attention throughout their lives.
The reputation of VCA Blackstone Valley Animal Hospital is built on a foundation of compassionate and professional care. One grateful client praised the staff for their kindness and patience, and specifically highlighted Dr. Wheeler as "the absolute best veterinarian" whom they trust with their puppies. This kind of personal recommendation speaks to the strong bonds the hospital's team forms with the families they serve, making what can often be a stressful experience into a positive and reassuring one. The dedication of the staff to answer all questions and provide exceptional care is a recurring theme in positive feedback, illustrating a deep commitment to both animal and client well-being.
It is also important to consider the full picture of client experiences. As one reviewer mentioned, while the staff and veterinarians were "absolutely incredible with handling" their cats, a significant misunderstanding about a promotional offer and subsequent charges created a negative and stressful situation. This feedback underscores the importance of clear communication regarding costs and services, a key point for any pet owner to consider before an appointment. Despite this challenging experience, the reviewer still acknowledged the high quality of the medical care and the staff's gentle handling of their pets, reinforcing that the clinical skill and compassion of the team are indeed strong points of the hospital, even while administrative processes may sometimes present challenges. For pet owners in Massachusetts, this information serves as a valuable reminder to have open and direct conversations about the expected cost of services during any vet visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Everyone who works at this facility is extremely kind and patient. They will answer any and all questions. Accordingly all the doctors are phenomenal but for my Sonny and my Sophie, we see Dr. Wheeler she is the absolute best veterinarian look no further she is the absolute best and I trust my puppies with her.
August 26 · Julie SaccociaI’ve thought about whether or not I wanted to write this review. The longer time has passed, the more things didn’t sit right with me. It’s unfortunate my experience here wasn’t as positive as I would’ve like it to have been.I was looking for a vet to take my cats to for their first visit. While doing some research I came across a coupon for a free wellness checkup at a VCA office. I booked an online appointment for one cat then decided it was best for me to call and add on my other cat. The person I spoke to on the phone was very kind and informative. She explained what was involved in the free wellness checkup and if I DECIDED to add anything on to the appointment such as vaccines or further appointments, it could be discussed with the vet during my visit.Leading up to my visit, I felt extremely confident and comfortable with the care my animals were going to receive. The staff were very kind when we arrived, everything was going great. It was suggested my animals received a few doses of routine vaccines during the visit. I explained upfront that I wanted to know the cost before anything continued since I was there for a free wellness check up not a standard appointment.Like most people, I am tight on money and being thrown an unexpected expense can be stress inducing for multiple reasons. At this point in my appointment I was only speaking to the vet assistant. I assumed when the vet came in to exam my animals the cost would be further explain to me if I chose to do vaccines or any additional care. This however, was not the case. When the vet came into the room I noticed that they had the vaccines In hand. They then proceeded to give both of my animals vaccine without my full acknowledging consent. Now I should have spoken up before it happened, that was my mistake. In that moment, I began to get nervous. I felt like I couldn’t speak up because it happened very quickly and I didn’t want to cause a issue.I love my pets dearly and of course want them to have everything they need to remain safe and healthy. I accepted I was going to have to pay some sort of upfront cost for the appointment since vaccinations are not included in the free well check up.Again, it is very unfortunate that this was my experience because both the vet and the vet assistant were absolutely incredible with hand handling my cats. After the vet left the room I was then stuck there for well over 20 minutes being told I now had to either sign up for a membership Or pay the hundreds of dollars for the service I had received without my full consent. After accepting what had happened I was expecting to have to pay at least a little over $100. What I didn’t expect was having to pay over $250 For this membership I wasn’t sure if I was even comfortable with using given what was happening.I am not one to ever write reviews especially negative ones. I felt as though at this point since I do not want to return to this office it was only right to share my experience so someone else doesn’t make the same mistake I did.I’m not entirely sure if this was a lack of communication on my end or on the staff. I tried my absolute best to make sure everyone I spoke to was aware I needed to know the upfront cost before proceeding with anything other than what was included in the free wellness check up. That I am completely certain of.My hopes by writing this are not to get anyone in trouble or to cause an uproar. But to make aware of a major lack in communication with the service they provide.I will pay anything to allow my pets to have the care they need and deserve. I just want to be aware of what that cost is before it happens so I can plan accordingly.
July 10 · KayEveryone here genuinely cares about my dog's wellbeing. E have been using this vet for 12 years and I've never encountered a staff member who was less than caring, accommodating, professional and knowledgeable.
July 14 · Taylor DeemTook my aunt’s cat right away today. They even found us a promo for revolution and treated Mr. pickles in 40 minutes. Dr. Poodles is kind, gentle, and answered all our questions. Thank you for all your help! You guys definitely saved my aunt hundreds of dollars or more by avoiding a trip to Ocean State. Really really appreciate it 😊❤️
March 18 · Jessica SoaresWe love these guys! We bring my chikdhood dog here (she is now 11yrs old), and 2 puppies (1.5yrs and 7 months). The pups still love coming in to see all their happy, friendly and caring vets and technicians! We just had the 7mon old spayed here and they did a great job, updated me throughout the day with pictures, calls and texts... and she still LOVES to go for a ride to see her friends at the VCA 🐶
