However, the cost and convenience of traditional veterinary clinics can sometimes be a challenge. Vetco Vaccination Clinic provides a unique and valuable solution by offering accessible and affordable walk-in services for dogs and cats. This clinic is an excellent resource for a community that needs a simple way to keep their pets healthy and up-to-date on essential vaccinations and screenings.
This article will provide a clear and factual overview of Vetco Vaccination Clinic. It is important to understand that this clinic operates with a specific focus on preventative care, which differs from a full-service veterinary hospital. We will explore its location, the specific services it provides, and the features that make it a compelling option for many local pet owners. The information presented is based on available public data, ensuring that the content is accurate and useful for local residents. The goal is to provide a transparent look at a convenient pet health resource.
Vetco Vaccination Clinic is conveniently located at 3850 Mystic Valley Pkwy Petco, Medford, MA 02155, USA. The clinic's location inside a Petco store adds a significant layer of convenience for pet owners who can combine a shopping trip with their pet's health needs. The clinic is committed to being accessible to all community members, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot. This ensures that the facility is easy to visit, reducing stress for pet owners.
While the general model is walk-in, it is noted that appointments are now needed at select locations. It's always best to check the specific clinic's schedule and policy. The clinic's phone number is (781) 350-1999, and the mobile number is +1 781-350-1999. The clinic’s operating hours may vary and are often scheduled on specific days of the week, so contacting them or checking their online schedule is recommended. The absence of a traditional office visit fee is a key aspect of their model, which contributes to making their services more affordable and transparent.
Vetco Vaccination Clinic focuses on preventative health, offering a specific range of services for dogs and cats. Their offerings are designed to be efficient and affordable, addressing key aspects of a pet's wellness.
Services offered include:
- Vaccinations: They provide a wide range of vaccinations, including Rabies (1 or 3 year), Bordetella, Canine Influenza, Lepto, Lyme, Distemper/Parvo (5 in 1) Combo, and Feline 3 in 1. They also offer packages like "Healthy Dog/Puppy" and "Healthy Cat/Kitten" that bundle essential services.
- Diagnostic Tests: The clinic performs important diagnostic tests, such as the Canine 4DX Test for Heartworm & Tick Diseases, Canine Heartworm Only tests, Fecal Tests, and the Feline Combo Test for FeLV, FIV, and Heartworm.
- Microchipping: They offer microchip services, which are a critical tool for helping reunite lost pets with their owners.
- Deworming: The clinic provides deworming treatments for round/hook and tapeworms.
- Additional Services: Other services offered may include dog ear cleaning, dog nail trimming, and access to a pharmacy.
- Grooming and Training: While these services may not be part of the medical clinic, the provided information includes them, suggesting they are available in the wider Petco store, which often features grooming, self-service dog washes, and positive dog training.
It is important to remember that Vetco is a preventative care clinic and does not typically handle emergencies, injuries, or illnesses. For those needs, a full-service animal hospital would be the appropriate choice.
Vetco Vaccination Clinic has several key features that make it an attractive option for local pet owners in Massachusetts.
- Affordability and Transparency: The clinic operates with no office visit fees, making the cost of basic care more accessible. The pricing for individual services and bundled packages is often transparent, allowing pet owners to plan their budget.
- Convenience: The walk-in format provides flexibility for busy schedules, and the location inside a Petco store allows owners to handle multiple errands at once. The separate room for vaccinations mentioned in a review also helps to manage stress for some pets.
- Focused Expertise: By specializing in preventative care, the clinic's veterinarians and staff are highly focused on providing efficient and knowledgeable service for common health needs.
- Variety of Services: Beyond just vaccinations, the clinic offers a range of preventative services like testing for heartworm, microchipping, and deworming, providing a comprehensive approach to basic wellness.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’d like that there was a separate room for the vaccinations. Most of the other Petco’s do not have that. What I didn’t like? Is that my cat was stressed getting there because they hate traveling in a car. They took one quick look at him and said he was too stressed to give them the vaccination. So they wouldn’t vaccinate him. They were OK and vaccinating my second cat, even though he was stress stressed, just not as stressed as the first.Five minutes after my larger cat got vaccinated, my anxious cat seemed perfectly fine. And they still wouldn’t vaccinate him.We had to go to a different Petco two days later to get him vaccinated. And that was a pain.
August 31 · Dana Schaeffer BadgleyWe booked this and came during the work day. The lady trying to examine my cat didn’t have much experience with cats, and refused service because our cat hissed. This is normal for scared cats, and nowhere on the site did it mention the differences between coming here versus going to a “total animal clinic.” Costs are the same as other vets, yet they are untrained. Don’t waste your time here!
June 06 · Alex MaiI canceled my appointment here due to the rude front desk lady. I have a first time visit free coupon which I explain when she was talking about fees. Since I already paid at my kittens initial appointment for this and his shots at his first visit in revere I said no just the shots. The coupon apparently doesn’t apply. So I told the woman never mind I will bring him to the closer location. She then accused me of not wanting the appointment due to me having to pay. I asked her what she was talking about? I said your location is further if I have to pay I’ll bring him to the location down the street like I already did. I told her don’t you ever accuse me of not caring for my cat. I said let me repeat myself to you I’m going to bring him to the closer location. I can’t believe the audacity of this woman. God forbid I don’t want my cat in an animal carrier for longer if he doesn’t have to be if I can get the same care down the street. I would never recommend dealing with these people here they also call you and text you non-stop even after confirming your appointment. This woman should be ashamed of herself and her disgusting behavior. I’d never let these people touch my cat at this location.
July 12 · Marie McHughAlways the best pets place I go to! Staff and service are very exceptional and outstanding. Took good care of our pet like theirs.
July 21 · Pitta CWe had booked an appointment for our animals to recieve all their shots/vaccines/etc at this location about a month in advance. Upon arriving we found that the clinic portion of the Petco was closed for the entire day and apparently had been scheduled to be closed on our appointment date for quite some time. Not sure where the breakdown in communication was but this was rather frustrating. The front desk/normal staff weren't incredibly helpful as well.
