In Willoughby, one such establishment is Jurassic Aquatics & Pets. This shop specializes in a niche market, focusing on aquatics and tropical fish, as well as various other types of pets. It has positioned itself as a specific destination for those looking to start or maintain an aquarium or reptile collection.

- Aquarium Fish and Supplies: The core of the business is its selection of tropical fish. The store provides a variety of freshwater livestock for aquariums. Along with the animals, it stocks the necessary supplies to set up and maintain a fish tank, including filters, heaters, decorations, and food.
- Reptile and Other Pet Sales: In addition to its aquatic focus, the store also carries other types of pets, including reptiles and tarantulas. This makes it a destination for those seeking a broader range of exotic animals. The store also sells the essential enclosures, substrates, and supplies for these animals.

Choosing a pet store is a deeply personal decision, and what makes a store "worth choosing" often depends on an individual's priorities. While it is important to consider both the positive and negative feedback from the public, Jurassic Aquatics & Pets presents itself as a specialized option for those in the greater Cleveland area. The store's niche focus on aquatics and reptiles fills a specific market need, offering a selection of animals and supplies that might not be available at larger, more general pet stores. The competitive pricing and a "decent selection of freshwater livestock" are definite points of value for hobbyists who are looking to expand their collections without breaking the bank. The convenience of its location, ample free parking, and accessibility features are also significant benefits that make it an easy stop for customers.
However, it is also important to acknowledge that some public feedback has raised concerns about the store's maintenance and animal care practices. While it is a good idea to visit a store in person to form your own opinion, these concerns should be considered. For a new pet owner, a clean and well-maintained environment is a critical indicator of animal health. For a seasoned hobbyist, the potential for finding unique items and good deals on a selection of fish might be the primary draw. Ultimately, Jurassic Aquatics & Pets is a specific type of store for a specific kind of customer. If you are a local enthusiast of aquatics or reptiles in the Willoughby area, it may be worth a visit to see if their offerings meet your needs. By being aware of all aspects of the store, you can make an informed choice that is right for you and your pets.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1First thing you notice as soon as you walk in is the terrible smell of this place. Compares to the smell of puddles that you find in the woods that’s been sitting there for too long. Almost like a septic tank, but not quite as unbearable. And then the random bits of furniture (chairs, couches, tables) scattered everywhere throughout the store like it’s being used as the owner(?)’s extra storage unit. Trash everywhere, no products on shelves are organized, animals are kept in enclosures too small for them, and if not they are overcrowded to the point it gets miserable watching them. The fish have no hides, the reptile section is bare with every square inch of the empty enclosures are kept dirty and unclean. The thing that broke my heart the most was the juvenile tarantula being kept at the checkout desk. The enclosure size for it was okay, but no proper substrate for it to burrow, only about half an inch of wood chips for it to stand on (this species of tarantula requires 4-8 inches of substrate to create its burrow in). No cork bark hide either. There was a water dish with a wet sponge in it that is notorious for growing mold. It also had an old molt in the corner of its cage that was needed to be removed. I asked if it was for sale in hopes that I can take it home and rehouse for a better chance at life, only to be given a ridiculous price for something that isn’t likely going to make it under my care, even if I did everything in my power to restore its health.Do not give this place your business. More importantly, do not take the risk of buying something here that will pose a threat to your pet’s health due to unsanitary maintenance (i.e. I especially would not trust the feeder insects kept in large storage bins). If you choose to buy an animal from here, please be advised of the risk of it dying very early on under your care due to this establishment’s lack of care.
April 13 · TThis is probably one of the worst, if not the worst, aquarium stores I’ve been to in greater Cleveland, and I’ve been to all of them. As you first enter the store, the moldy smell almost knocks you on your feet. Once you recover from that and get back to your senses, you are greeted by dirty tank after filthy tank. (And no, this isn’t the Walstad method). Livestock looks sickly, beat up, and if they are not already at death’s doorstep, it is only because they lack the strength to get there. Water changes probably haven’t occurred since they moved in to the place. There are some positives however: pricing and a decent selection of freshwater livestock. Their salt was abysmal. Course, that makes no difference as you won’t be paying for anything so as to avoid bringing anything home with you. I wish they would do better since there’s so much potential.
April 20 · Luke YangThey keep tegus in 75 gallon tanks. I shouldn't need to explain my 1-star any further, as this is incredibly inhumane.I went back for a further look. These cold blooded creatures have no heat, no uvb. Their tanks are absolutely filthy and filled with gnats/flies flying around. They have other reptiles such as bearded dragons, leopard geckos, and crested geckos with improper heat/uvb. Again, filthy tanks. While we were in there, we overheard the employees joking about dead animals in the store. In no world is this place acceptable. Avoid unless you're here to rescue.
September 03 · Brandon KondikBest place to buy freshwater and saltwater fish in Lake County. They also have reptile supplies, and second hand tanks.Located inside the Willoughby Target parking lot, across from Famous Footwear, next to the bin store. On the same side of parking lot as Starbucks. Hard to find. Hope that helps. It's on the hill by stop sign, between target and Giant Eagle.
July 09 · Joyful HamYikes...first of, the entire place smelt HORRIBLE. Many of the tanks and stands for sale had mold growing. The tanks with fish in them were dirty, some of them had so much algea that you could barely see in the tank. The store was a mess, stuff was everywhere and I wasn't even sure where I was supposed to go. And to top it all off, the turtles were eating a dead baby turtle carcass...not exactly what i wanted to see today
