Their commitment to the industry and their passion for marine life is evident in their impressive selection and the knowledgeable service they provide. They cater to a diverse clientele, from hobbyists looking for a single new addition to their tank to established professionals seeking quality stock.
Route 66 Marine has established itself as a key resource for those in the Southern California area who are passionate about marine aquariums. It’s more than just a place to buy fish and coral; it's a hub for expertise and high-quality products. The team understands the delicate balance required to maintain a healthy marine ecosystem and provides the guidance and supplies necessary for success. This focus on expertise is a significant benefit for both newcomers, who need help navigating the complexities of saltwater tanks, and experienced hobbyists, who appreciate the nuanced knowledge of the staff.
The store's role in the local community extends to both retail and wholesale aspects, creating a dynamic environment that serves different types of customers. Their dual nature as an aquarium shop and an e-commerce service also highlights their adaptability and reach, allowing them to serve a broader audience beyond their immediate physical location. This blend of in-person and online operations makes them a convenient option for many Californians. The accessibility of their business, both in physical and digital form, is a major advantage for their customer base, ensuring that whether you’re nearby or a bit further away, you can still access their products and services.
The passion that drives Route 66 Marine is clear from the feedback they receive, which often points to their great selection of marine life. This is a crucial factor for any aquarium enthusiast, as variety and quality are paramount. The ability to find healthy, diverse corals and fish is what keeps hobbyists coming back. This establishment understands that and focuses on curating a collection that excites and inspires their customers.
While the reviews are a mixed bag and reflect different customer experiences, they paint a picture of a business that is actively engaged in the broader marine life industry. The feedback from a customer who owns a business and has worked with them for over a year, praising the team and their selections, speaks to their ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships. This type of long-term partnership is often a strong indicator of a company’s reliability and quality. The contrasting review, however, highlights a specific business model that prioritizes larger-volume clients, which can be an important consideration for smaller businesses or individuals who do not order in large quantities.
Ultimately, Route 66 Marine’s place in the Southern California community is as a specialized supplier for a specific niche. For those who fit their business model, they offer a tremendous resource. Route 66 Marine Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Erich, the manager. When attempting to discuss a business transaction with him, I was met with an unprofessional and rude attitude. He made it clear that his priority lies with his larger clients and seemed to belittle smaller businesses like mine. Erich blatantly told me that the bigger stores purchasing coral from him were the ones controlling my ability to grow, implying that my business didn’t matter unless I could order $500 - $2,000 a month possibly stepping into the refusal to trade laws. He even went as far as to suggest that I take my business elsewhere if I couldn’t meet this threshold. My company isn’t solely based on the sales of corals but more so maintenance and I order packs monthly sometimes multiple times for client stock. As a small business owner, I was shocked by how little respect he showed for someone trying to establish themselves in the industry and would not give me anyone higher to speak to. His refusal to do business was based SOLELY on keeping his larger clients happy, showing he has no interest in supporting smaller businesses. It’s discouraging to encounter such dismissive behavior in a professional setting, and I would not recommend working with Erich or Route 66 if you’re a small company looking to grow. As they had NO INTERESTS AT ALL in supporting a growing company but more big industry. I have tried to order multiple times from them only to see my account was not working because I did not meet the $500-$2000 a month threshold and by the time it was up again and I went to make another order it was removed again.

August 29 · Nima ZareAwful company!! Apparently if you ask them about a coral they get highly defensive for no reason. Sales team will lie to your face and tell you about their company woes….after catching them in their lies, they will cancel your account. Zero morals
