California Animal Rehabilitation is not just a standard veterinary clinic; it offers several unique features and highlights that set it apart. The emphasis on rehabilitation is a primary distinction, providing specialized care for pets that have suffered injuries, undergone surgery, or are dealing with chronic conditions like arthritis. This focus on physical therapy and recovery is a critical service for pet owners looking to improve their animal's mobility and quality of life.
Key features and highlights include:

- Holistic and Integrative Treatments: The clinic offers services like acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and cold laser therapy, which are often used in conjunction with conventional treatments.

The reviews for California Animal Rehabilitation present a complex picture. One customer shared an incredibly positive experience, highlighting how the staff provided "hope when it feels hopeless." The story of Bingo, a dog who lost feeling in his hind legs, is a powerful testament to the rehabilitation services offered. The reviewer's emotional account of their pet walking again and the extension of his life by "years" speaks volumes about the impact of the care received. This review praises the staff's dedication and the effective results of the physical therapy, making a strong case for their expertise in canine rehabilitation. The reviewer's appreciation for the staff's love and care for their pet is a key takeaway, showing the emotional connection and trust that can be built between the clinic and pet owners.
However, another review offers a drastically different and "absolutely heartbreaking" perspective. This customer's experience with the boarding service was a nightmare, with their dog allegedly returning "skinny to the bones" and showing signs of neglect. The reviewer's frustration with the staff's dismissive response and lack of explanation is evident. This review raises serious concerns about the quality of basic care, particularly for pets left for an extended period. The visible signs of neglect and the dog's weakened state are significant issues that contrast sharply with the promotional information and the positive review. This serves as a reminder that experiences can vary and that it is always wise to ask detailed questions and perhaps conduct a site visit before leaving a pet for an extended stay.
Why is California Animal Rehabilitation worth choosing? The answer depends on the specific needs of your pet. If your pet requires specialized rehabilitation services, such as physical therapy, acupuncture, or pain management for chronic conditions, this facility appears to have the expertise and dedicated staff to address these issues. The overwhelmingly positive review regarding rehabilitation speaks to their potential as a leader in this niche. Their integrative approach, combining traditional veterinary medicine with holistic treatments, offers a well-rounded and potentially more effective path to recovery and improved quality of life for many pets. The convenience of having multiple services—rehabilitation, general practice, boarding, and grooming—in one location is also a major advantage for busy pet owners. The accessibility features of the facility demonstrate a thoughtful consideration for all clients.
However, it is also important to consider the differing experiences. While their rehabilitation services may be top-tier, the negative feedback on their boarding services warrants careful consideration. A pet owner considering this facility, especially for boarding, should do their due diligence. This might include a thorough consultation about the feeding and care schedule, and perhaps a trial visit for a shorter period. Ultimately, for those seeking advanced and specialized rehabilitative care for their animal companions in the Los Angeles area, California Animal Rehabilitation provides a compelling option with a unique and integrated approach to veterinary medicine.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Some of the best people on Earth. They give you hope when it feels hopeless and effort when it feels like everyone around you is telling you to give up.My best friend Bingo lost feeling in his hind legs from a slipped disk. I remember my mom sending me the video of his legs picking up because of the rubber bands under his little toes. I cried like a baby at work because I didn't think it was possible but they show you it is. I'm writing all this because they really showed that they loved and cared about my best friend. It's really something I will never forget. They gave him another chance and he started walking again after a few months. I truly appreciate them and I recommend Care to anyone dealing with a pet that might be dealing with similar issues. Everything changes. You have to learn how to express them, walk with them, watch them adapt to a more sedentary life and Care makes it feel like you can do it and even more. My bingo passed away earlier this year and I miss him so much but Care helped us extend his life by years I feel. Thank you thank you thank you
August 06 · Richard CraneyAbsolutely Heartbreaking Experience – Do Not Trust Them with Your PetI left my dog at California Animal Rehabilitation Center for what was supposed to be a two-week stay while I was away, and it turned into an absolute nightmare. When I picked him up, I was shocked and devastated. My dog, who was healthy and full of energy when I dropped him off, came back skinny to the bones, with his ribs and spine clearly visible. Even worse, he had multiple scars and visible signs of neglect. It was obvious he had not been fed properly—if at all—on a consistent schedule. His eyes were sunken, and he was weak and disoriented. When I confronted the staff, they were defensive, dismissive, and offered no real explanation or apology. One staff member even tried to claim my dog “must have had a fast metabolism.” Are you serious? This place is supposed to specialize in rehabilitation and care, but from what I experienced, they’re barely providing the basics. I trusted them with my dog’s health and well-being, and they completely failed. If you care about your pet even slightly, do NOT leave them here.
May 21 · Dub CSo caring, versatile, skilled. My dog is far better than when he arrived for his first treatment and they always carefully listen to and address changes from visit to visit. 2.5 years in and still going 💪
July 06 · Jessica SimoneCan’t recommend CARE enough! The staff is top notch and truly care about the dogs they work with. Dr Polkowski and every single staff member have been amazing with my American Bulldog. They are thorough and take the time to work with your pup, whatever the injury or condition may be.
May 08 · Valerie PitaloIn January 2024, my Cooper, 83 lbs, 10 years old choc lab had an emergency spinal surgery and he had the best recovery at CARE for two weeks right after. I was so glad that I found CARE. Cooper was too!!Their staff from frontend to backend and vets were so kind to us. I felt Cooper was in good hand right away when Dr Karen assessed and took him in. I received daily update from the vets which was an assurance.Cooper went in unable to walk and was miserable. I visited him during his stay, I found staff were friendly and I always felt welcomed. Cooper showed progress of his recovery every time I visited. He wagging his tail walking to me when I picked him up to come home. I could not have given Cooper what he needed post surgery the way CARE could. I am forever thankful for CARE and I LOVE Cooper!
