Dermatology for Animals - Scottsdale Introduce
For pet owners in Arizona, dealing with a pet’s chronic skin or ear issues can be a frustrating and heartbreaking experience. These conditions can cause significant discomfort, pain, and a reduced quality of life for our beloved animal companions. When a general practitioner's treatments are no longer enough, a specialized veterinary dermatologist is often the next step. Dermatology for Animals, with its Scottsdale location, is a leading facility that provides expert and compassionate care for pets with complex dermatological conditions. This clinic is not a general practice but a specialized center dedicated to diagnosing and treating a wide range of skin, ear, and allergy-related problems.
The team at Dermatology for Animals understands that these conditions are often chronic and require a long-term partnership between the veterinarian, the pet, and the owner. The clinic's core mission is to bring relief to animals suffering from persistent and difficult-to-manage dermatological diseases. This dedication is deeply appreciated by clients, as evidenced by the heartfelt reviews. One customer, Viviane, praises Dr. Slice and her staff for the "amount of love" and care they've shown her foster dog, Ernie, over several months. This level of personalized attention and genuine affection is what sets a specialist clinic apart and builds unwavering trust.
The clinic's professionalism is matched by its profound empathy, particularly in difficult situations. Another moving testimonial describes the experience of a pet owner whose beloved pitbull, Bogey, was diagnosed with skin cancer. Despite the devastating news, the owner was incredibly grateful for the honest and compassionate care they received from the team, especially from Dr. Ahmed, who had personal experience with the same diagnosis. This level of quiet empathy and understanding provided immense comfort during a heartbreaking time. The team even took the time to send a handwritten card after Bogey passed, a small but incredibly meaningful gesture that speaks volumes about their character and commitment to the human-animal bond.
While the services at a specialized clinic like this may be on the "pricier side," as one review notes, the value lies in the advanced expertise and the quality of care that can't be found elsewhere. For pet owners in Arizona who are at the end of their rope with their pet's chronic itching, discomfort, or other skin issues, the investment in a specialist can be life-changing for both the pet and the family. The clinic's team is not "just in it for the money"; they are dedicated professionals who genuinely care and will answer all your questions with patience and support.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I truly can’t say enough kind things about this vet team—especially Dr. Ahmed. Though we only met them once, they still took the time to send a handwritten card after our sweet boy Bogey passed, and that alone speaks volumes.Yes, their services are on the pricier side—but that’s simply part of pet ownership. What matters more is that they’re not just in it for the money. They genuinely care about both the animals and the people who love them. They’ll answer all your questions without hesitation and support you with patience and compassion every step of the way.We did get answers, though unfortunately, not the kind we were hoping for. Bogey, our beloved pitbull, was diagnosed with skin cancer and passed just two weeks later. It was heartbreaking—but it meant the world to be under the care of a doctor who had personally experienced the same diagnosis. Without even having to share her story, she made it clear that she understood. That kind of quiet empathy is rare and deeply appreciated. While pain management only gave us two short weeks, I’m grateful for every moment we had. And I’m incredibly thankful we found a team that gave us truth, support, and kindness during such a difficult time. Unfortunately no amount of money would have saved bogey . Cancer sucks .Thank you for treating Bogey with the love and respect he deserved—and for the beautiful card that brought a little light to our grief.
June 05 · AshleyDr. Slice and alllll her staff are absolutely top notch. Ernie, is my foster dog and been under their care for several months now. The amount of love they give to him and the care is beyond me. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone who needs to see a loving and caring dermatologist.Thank you to all of you, Ernie and i appreciate all the care you continue to give him.Viviane and Ernie 😊
August 20 · Viviane WilliamsThis is the best place for any pet with allergy issues. I have 2 Sphynx cats that have always had ear wax problems (common in the breed) and they have taken very good care of them. My babies are now much more comfortable and not itching so much causing skin irritation.
October 22 · Melissa KolnikStruggled with our hounds skin and ears for years before we were recommended to the derm. They were able to diagnose him the first appointment, we started treatment, and have had no issues since. It is expensive, but ultimately much cheaper than the constant vet appointments when he is not being treated. Our dog is very difficult to examine, but they are patient and kind with him.
August 06 · Laura AlfordCan’t rave enough about Dermatology for Animals in Scottsdale, specifically Dr. Frost. My young Papillon “Zero” had been dealing with an autoimmune issue that affected the skin around his eyes for several months. Our veterinarian referred us here after she was unable to wean him off prednisone successfully.I was so impressed after our first visit with Dr. Frost! She was incredibly personable and took her time looking at my pups entire history and came up with a new plan to try some different meds. The new plan worked and Zero is doing so well that Dr. Frost said we won’t need to come back unless there is an issue. I am so glad that Zero is doing so well but I was a little sad that we won’t need to see Dr. Frost again regularly. She’s truly a pleasure to deal with and not only an amazing veterinarian, but an amazing person too. You can see that she really loves her job and cares so much about her patients. We are so grateful for her expert care!
