Kearny Kevin DVM Introduce
For pet owners in The Bronx, finding a veterinarian who can provide professional and attentive care for their furry family members is a top priority. Dr. Kevin Kearny's veterinary practice, located on Morris Park Avenue, offers a range of services designed to address the health needs of small animals. As a local veterinarian, the clinic aims to be a resource for the community, providing medical, diagnostic, and emergency services. While the provided information is limited, it indicates a focus on core veterinary care, which is essential for maintaining the well-being of pets in a bustling urban environment like New York. The clinic’s role in the community is to provide an accessible and reliable option for pet owners seeking fundamental veterinary services.
Customer experiences with the clinic have been varied and, in some cases, have raised significant concerns. The provided reviews highlight serious issues with wait times, staff interaction, and the handling of a sick pet. One reviewer mentioned a wait time of "almost a one and a half hour" and a difficult interaction with a vet on duty who refused to provide oral antibiotics and insisted on a more expensive treatment plan. This kind of experience is distressing for any pet owner, especially when their animal is sick and in need of compassionate care. The reviewer’s account of the vet's and staff's handling of their cat during a blood draw, and the subsequent refusal to treat the animal, is a major point of concern. This feedback, repeated word-for-word in another review, suggests a deeply negative experience for this client. When seeking a veterinarian, such detailed accounts are important to consider, as they provide insight into the potential challenges one might face at this practice.
The feedback suggests that prospective clients should be prepared for a potentially lengthy wait and that communication with the staff and doctor may not always be as clear or collaborative as some might hope. The reviewer’s desire to find a way to lodge a formal complaint about the "refusal to treat a sick animal" underscores the severity of their experience. While some businesses may have positive reviews to balance out negative ones, the limited and critical nature of the provided feedback for this specific veterinarian means that prospective clients should approach with caution. It is crucial for pet owners to feel confident in their vet's ability to provide both skilled medical care and a humane, patient-focused experience, and these reviews indicate that this may not always be the case at this location.
Kearny Kevin DVM is located at 945 Morris Park Ave, Bronx, NY 10462, USA. This location places it within a well-known commercial corridor in The Bronx, making it accessible to many local residents. The clinic offers a wheelchair accessible entrance, which is a positive feature that ensures a degree of accessibility for all individuals. Having a physical location in the neighborhood provides a convenient option for pet owners who need to bring their animals in for an examination or treatment. However, the convenience of the location must be weighed against the potential for long wait times and difficult interactions, as described in the customer reviews. While accessibility is a key factor, the quality of the service received once inside is equally, if not more, important. The clinic's location and accessibility are designed to be convenient, but the reviews suggest that the experience itself may not be.
The veterinary services offered by Kearny Kevin DVM appear to be focused on core small animal care. The provided information lists a few general service categories, indicating that the clinic can likely handle standard veterinary needs. These services are the foundation of any veterinary practice, addressing both routine wellness and unexpected health issues. While the list is not as extensive as that of a large animal hospital, it covers the basics that most pet owners would require. The availability of these services in the local community is a benefit, as it provides an option for pet owners who may prefer to stay close to home for their pet's care.

The offering of "house calls" is a notable service, as it can be a great convenience for pet owners with animals who get anxious in a clinic setting or for those with limited mobility. This service can be particularly beneficial in a busy city like New York, where travel can be a challenge. The presence of "emergency services" is also a crucial benefit for pet owners, providing a potential resource for urgent situations. However, the negative reviews about the handling of a sick animal in an emergency context are a serious consideration, and it would be wise for potential clients to clarify the clinic's emergency policies and procedures before an urgent situation arises.
The features and highlights of Kearny Kevin DVM, based on the provided information, are limited but important. The clinic's ability to offer house calls is a significant point of differentiation. This service caters to a specific and important need within the pet-owning community. The wheelchair accessible entrance is another key highlight, ensuring that the facility is physically welcoming to a diverse group of clients. Beyond these logistical features, the reviews suggest that there are significant challenges with the client and patient experience that must be considered. While the clinic provides a restroom, the overall atmosphere and patient handling, as described by the reviews, are major factors that prospective clients should take into account when making a decision about their pet’s care. The presence of these features is a positive, but they do not outweigh the serious concerns raised in the public feedback.
To contact Kearny Kevin DVM, you can use the provided phone number. It is recommended to call ahead to inquire about the services and to ask any questions you may have, particularly in light of the negative reviews. The phone number is the primary way to get in touch with the clinic and to determine if they are the right fit for your pet's needs. Given the feedback about long wait times, calling ahead to confirm an appointment and to understand the expected wait time is a good idea. The phone number provided is the best way to get the information you need before making a visit.

What is worth choosing for a veterinary clinic depends heavily on a client's priorities. While Kearny Kevin DVM offers essential services and has a convenient location, the provided reviews raise serious concerns about the quality of care and the professionalism of the staff. The refusal to treat a sick animal, the long wait times, and the difficult interactions with the vet are significant red flags that prospective clients should be aware of. For many pet owners, especially those with anxious or sensitive animals, a compassionate and patient-focused approach is as important as the medical expertise. The reviews suggest that this clinic may not meet those expectations. While the clinic offers a range of services from basic medical care to house calls, the reported negative experiences make it difficult to recommend without significant reservations. It is crucial for pet owners to seek out a veterinarian they can trust to provide both competent medical treatment and humane, respectful care for their beloved companions. For New Yorkers looking for a local vet, this particular clinic’s public feedback makes it a place to approach with caution and to consider with all the information at hand.

Kearny Kevin DVM Reviews
This is the worst experience I had with any Vet. There was almost a one and half hour wait time. I took my cat for a sick visit (diarrhea) and instead of treating her present illness, the vet on duty today 06/15/2016 wanted to do labs, give her antibiotic injection and PO antibiotics which would cost $288. I consented, however explained that the tabby cat would not cooperate if there was pain. He asked me to leave the room, which I refused and then he tried to draw blood with great difficulty. The cat hissed and eventually jumped up, with the needle still stuck in her leg, he does nothing and the helper who was the office staff removed it. He wanted to continue again, to which I refused. I requested oral antibiotics, to which he stated that if I was trying to suggest, to leave. He refused to take care of my tabby and I am looking for a site where I could lodge a complaint (refusal to treat a sick animal)
