★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I recently brought my dog to Dr. Cannon and Adrianna, and I couldn’t be happier with the care we received. From the moment we walked in, Adrianna greeted us with a warm smile and made my pet feel comfortable right away. Dr. Cannon took the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and treated my pet with such kindness and patience. It’s clear they truly care about both their patients and their owners. The clinic is clean, welcoming, and very organized. I’m so grateful to have found such a *trustworthy* and compassionate veterinary team right here in my community. Highly recommend!
August 09 · JOSELINE RODRIGUEZOur family have been clients of the Maywood Veterinary Clinic for 15 years. We have never had a bad experience, everyone is professional and helpful. All the Doctors and Vet Techs are wonderful. The front desk staff are very friendly and most helpful with questions, making appointments, and with renewing medications. The doctors take time with each patient and answer all your questions. The Clinic is extremely clean.I highly recommend The Maywood Veterinary Clinic.
June 15 · Rita CostaI just had my cat there after she had a seizure (first one ever in nearly 14 years). After the normal exam, I got bloodwork, 3 X-rays, and a urinalysis. The upsell and increase in prices is awful.Dr. Lower examined her. As far as the exam, she barely checked her teeth. She lifted one side and looked for 2 seconds and told me she has dental disease at a 3 (which I later found out was wrong). She told me by looking at her bloodwork from two years ago that she has kidney disease (which was also wrong). She barely looked at her ears. Even after seeing her current bloodwork, she told me there was concern for her kidneys. Before leaving, I asked her to look at her teeth again, because my cat just had a dental cleaning less than two years ago & should not have dental disease. She told me “some cats are just not blessed with the genes”. She told me the tartar is in the back, not the front, and did not look at her teeth again. Nice, right?A short, incompetent examination, and she charges me $40 more than a regular wellness exam, titling it “injury and illness examination”. My cat is not ill or injured. The exam was no different than a normal exam, in fact it wasn’t thorough at all.She was short with answers to questions I had, trying to understand what’s going on. She kept starting her replies with “Like I said”.. which is arrogant & rude. After spending $1000, I left there more confused and still had no idea what was causing the seizures. The way she spoke made it seem like I should get an MRI of her brain and she was telling me it’s anywhere from $3000 to $10,000. None of this sat right with me. I went home and did all my own research, and after getting the blood work results researched absolutely everything. I am not a veterinarian yet I could determine she has nothing wrong with her kidneys. In my gut I knew I needed a second opinion from a more experienced competent vet. $200 later, I found out that my cat was misdiagnosed TWICE and did NOT need to be living on a quite serious anti-seizure medication for the rest of her life that Lower put her on. Luckily I stopped giving it to her after she vomited a day later and had diarrhea. A different vet there, Natalia, said the vomiting could be due to her reaction of the medication and then put her on phenobarbital. Luckily nothing felt right and I didn’t give that to her. Even though I did spend $50 on both of these medication‘s that I ended up not needing! My current vet that I’m so grateful I went to, treated her for intestinal upset. He told me she does not have kidney disease, nothing even close to that, she does not have dental disease, & she should absolutely not be living on an anti-seizure medication. It is too soon to put her on that medication. Only after consistent and frequent seizures should they go on that type of medication. It’s addicting, it changes the chemistry in the brain, & they live every day in sedation. It’s a serious medication that should not be taken lightly. Please I strongly emphasize every pet parent, do your own research. Trust your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, it’s probably because it isn’t. Vets can be wrong & incompetent! My cat is doing great now, getting back to herself. I will never ever return to Maywood vets. Veterinarians should be educated about nutrition & how better quality food can be healing, as well as environment. Most vets just push food like Science Hill and Royal Canin, which they get kick backs. They get paid to recommend this food by the companies that they work with hand-in-hand. Dry food is NOT healthy. And most vets push medication. Pharmaceutical companies pay them to push these drugs! When it’s necessary, it can be life saving, but if an animal doesn’t have to live on a medication they shouldn’t! The long term use can cause damage to their organs, usually liver and kidneys. There’s potential of other harmful side effects. Please educate yourself on the health of your animals. Find a vet that spends time talking to you and considers ALL and cares. It’s expensive, you should get the best care possible.
March 12 · Coral CincoI can’t thank Maywood Vet enough for the kindness and compassion they showed during one of the hardest moments—saying goodbye to my beloved dog. They had been his vet for many years, always providing excellent care, and when it came time for his final moments, they guided us through with such patience and empathy. Afterward, they even sent a thoughtful condolence card, a gesture that truly touched my heart. The staff made sure we felt supported and cared for every step of the way.
August 16 · Adri ZapaAfter a rough time trying to find the right home for my pet, we immediately felt comfortable and at ease during our first visit. Thank you to Maywood Veterinary Clinic for giving us a new place to call home!
