Veterinarians use a variety of veterinary tools to diagnose disease, to monitor disease progression or response to therapy, and to screen for the presence of underlying disease in apparently healthy animals.
- Digital Radiography
Digital radiography is used to examine your pet’s organs and their reproductive, cardiopulmonary, urinary, and gastrointestinal systems. This non-invasive procedure produces images that allow a veterinarian to get an in-depth look at issues that are affecting your pet.
- Flea / Tick Prevention
Flea and tick prevention consists of a variety of products used to control flea and/or tick infestations on your pet and to prevent infestations inside your home. Fleas are small insects that are parasitic; they feed on blood from animals and/or people.
- Heartworm Prevention
Heartworm preventives come in different forms, including monthly chewable pills and topical “spot on” medications, as well as an injectable medication that is given every 6 or 12 months. Heartworm preventives are available only by prescription from veterinarians.
- In House Pharmacy / Lab
Most veterinary clinics can perform basic laboratory tests within their clinic. Samples for the tests may be collected at the clinic, or the pet owner may collect samples at home (feces, urine) and bring them to the clinic. The complexity and types of tests done will vary from clinic to clinic.
- Microchipping
A Microchip ID is a small computer chip, about the size of a grain of rice. It is implanted under the animal's skin, between the shoulder blades. Unlike other forms of identification, a Microchip ID cannot be removed or lost. Very often, pets slip out of their collars or lose tags.
- Orthopedic Surgery
Veterinary orthopedic surgery deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions related to a pet's musculoskeletal system — including bones, joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons.
- Pain Management
- Parasite Prevention
PARASITES(Worms) Fecal exams and regular deworming are the best way to prevent parasitic disease, and the transmission of intestinal parasites from pets to people (zoonosis).
- Pet Dental Care
Dental health is very important to your pet’s overall health, and dental problems can cause, or be caused by, other health problems. A physical exam combined with appropriate laboratory work can determine if infection in the mouth has occurred. Schedule your pet’s dental exam today.

March 26 · Eric GarciaThis review is long overdue. We are frequent visitors of Socal Pet Hospital with our pets, especially our Corgi, Nuggs. We couldn’t be more impressed with the level of care and professionalism from the entire team, Dr. Quing, Alondra, Veronica, Jessi, Andy and Kerra. From the moment we walk in, the staff is always welcoming, patient, and clearly passionate about animals. The facility is clean, well-organized, and calming — which especially helpful for our anxious pups! Dr. Quing is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to explain every aspect of the exam and treatment options. Our questions are always answered without making us feel rushed. The follow-up care is just as thorough. We always receive a call the following day to see how our pet is doing and to see if we have any questions. What really stand outs is the genuine compassion the team always shows towards our pets. They treat them like family, and that makes all the difference. We highly recommend Socal Pet Hospital to any pet owner looking for trustworthy, top-notch veterinary care!
