★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A big thank you to everyone at Upstate Veterinary Specialties for helping my dog Birdie after she ate a corn cob. As you can imagine it was very stressful, but the entire staff was warm, kind and friendly. Dr. Kirchner and the whole team that helped me were very professional and were able to make me feel at ease. They helped Birdie and thankfully got it all out right away. I really appreciate everyone there. They are my go to animal hospital!
August 14 · Sarah JacobsonMy vet in Plattsburgh could not diagnose my suddenly very ill dog and BEVS in Vermont had no room to take him overnight. We were quickly seen by Upstate after driving 2.25 hours. The whole time I suspected my pup was at the end of his life and I was right. Upstate showed so much compassion when explaining what was going on. I was hesitant to drive so far but the little ease Upstate brought me made the trip worth it. I amSo very grateful for the compassion the entire staff showed us. Caz rests peacefully now.
August 21 · Amie JeleniewskiExtremely happy with my experience. My dog was seen as an emergency patient on a busy weekend, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They were empathetic and willing to allow me to set the tone of the exam, which made the experience easier on my nervous dog. The price I paid was incredibly reasonable, the staff communicated the whole time on wait times, various options for treatment, and flexible in payment options. Highly recommend!
August 26 · Megan HenryThere are no words strong enough to express my gratitude to the team at Upstate Veterinary Specialties. Over the course of just one month, my cat Mama faced nearly every medical crisis imaginable. In total, I spent over $30,000 on her care, and I can honestly say it was worth every single penny. Because of their efforts, Mama is now home, healthy, and back to being her wild, mischievous self.I want to especially thank Dr. Arnold and Dr. Scott. At one point, when Mama’s anemia worsened and she was being seen by an ER doctor unfamiliar with her complex case, euthanasia was brought up. I was devastated — not because I feared saying goodbye if she were truly suffering, but because I felt like she wasn’t done fighting. I could see it in her. Still, I began to doubt myself, afraid I was letting her suffer needlessly.Thankfully, I chose to hospitalize her again. Dr. Arnold noticed Mama was back in the ER and — on her day off — reached out to Dr. Scott, one of the ER criticalists, to discuss Mama’s case. Their advocacy and medical expertise are the reason my little girl is still here. Their willingness to fight for her when she couldn’t fight for herself means more than I can ever put into words. I will forever be grateful for the dedication and determination they showed. To everyone at UVS who cared for Mama — thank you for saving her life, for listening to me, and for treating her like the beloved family member she is. You gave us more time, and for that, I will be forever grateful.
June 16 · Rebecca BarnesI brought my sweet Golden Retriever in as an emergency last week 8/27/25. Even though her disgnosis was very devastating, The doctor and entire staff were more than kind. They went out of there way to help me cope with the diagnosis of cancer which left my dog with limited time left. I brought her home the doctor there and I made a plan to treat Rylee with palliative care. Unfortunately my best friend and most awesome furchild I have ever had the pleasure to own passed away Fiday 8/30/25. My heart is shattered. However, She did not have to suffer longer than she would have. I would highly recommend Upstate Veterinary Hospital to everyone who is in need of excellent care for their beautiful pets. I miss my girl Rylee Grace so, so much. 💞Rylee, Mommy will never, ever forget you, and I so wish I could have had you for more than 7 years. Life just isn't fair to the most beautiful, kind, souls in this world💞
