VCA Elliot Park Animal Hospital Introduce
Hello, Arizona pet parents! In the ever-growing communities of the East Valley, finding a trusted, comprehensive veterinary care provider is a key part of responsible pet ownership. For residents of Tempe, one well-known name in the field is VCA Elliot Park Animal Hospital. This facility is more than just a place to get vaccinations; it is a full-service animal hospital, an emergency vet, a pet boarder, and a groomer all in one. As a part of the reputable VCA network, this location offers a wide spectrum of veterinary medical services, aiming to provide care for pets through every stage of their lives.
VCA Elliot Park Animal Hospital has a long-standing presence in the community. It has been an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited hospital since 1998, a significant accomplishment that sets it apart. AAHA accreditation means the hospital voluntarily upholds over 900 standards of veterinary excellence, ensuring that pets receive a high level of preventive and healing care. This commitment to quality and continuous improvement is a strong indicator of the dedication of the veterinarians, technicians, and support staff.
However, it is important for prospective clients to be aware of the full range of public sentiment. While the hospital's accreditations and stated mission are highly positive, some customer reviews express dissatisfaction, citing issues with high costs, mandatory wellness checks, and what they perceive as a corporate-driven approach that can overshadow the personal connection between a pet and their veterinarian. These reviews, while not representative of everyone's experience, are a valuable part of the public record and should be considered when making an informed choice for your pet's healthcare.
Location and Accessibility
The hospital is conveniently located at 1700 E Elliot Rd, Suite 19, Tempe, AZ 85284, USA. This central location in Tempe makes it easily accessible for residents throughout the East Valley, including those in Chandler, Mesa, and Phoenix. Its proximity to major roadways like the 10 and 101 ensures a straightforward drive, which is a key factor when dealing with a pet that may be ill or anxious.
The hospital is committed to making its services available to all clients. Public information confirms that there is a wheelchair-accessible car park and a wheelchair-accessible toilet, which is a crucial detail for pet owners with mobility challenges. The presence of gender-neutral toilets also indicates a commitment to inclusivity, creating a welcoming environment for every member of the community. Appointments are recommended for all services to ensure a smooth and efficient visit.

What is Worth Choosing
Choosing VCA Elliot Park Animal Hospital can be a good decision for Arizona pet owners who value a full-service, all-in-one approach to pet healthcare. The hospital's AAHA accreditation provides peace of mind, assuring that the facility meets a high standard of care. Their extensive list of services, from routine check-ups and preventative care to orthopedic surgery and emergency services, means that you can often receive all the care your pet needs in a single location. The availability of on-site pet boarding and grooming also adds a layer of convenience that can simplify your life as a pet parent.
However, it is crucial to be aware of the public feedback regarding pricing and the business model. Some customers have expressed concerns about the high cost of services and the feeling of being "ripped off," especially with mandatory wellness exams. This suggests that while the quality of medical care may be high, the financial aspect of the service is a significant factor for some clients. For pet owners who prioritize having a full-service facility and can budget for a potentially higher cost, the hospital may be a good fit. For others, it might be beneficial to use this hospital for more complex or emergency needs while seeking more affordable options for routine care, such as those provided by mobile clinics. Ultimately, making an informed choice for your pet involves weighing the comprehensive services and accredited care against the potential financial and customer service concerns raised in public reviews.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Scheduled an appointment for 2 vaccines, was not advised that I'd have to also pay $129 for a wellness check up. That didn't even include weight or any diagnostics at all. Because my dog is fine. Wellness exam took less than 4 minutes. Such a rip off. Vaccines were twice as expensive as my usual vet, and vaccine exam was almost 3 times the cost of my usual vet. Only came here because I was established since humane society adoption, never ever coming back nor recommending.
July 14 · Kaylee E.We visited Dr. Lotion here around 2018 and the recent reviews of this clinic match the reasoning of why we left 5 years ago with our 4 dogs. Unprofessional front staff and condescending business operations from an umbrella company that gives the doctors no control. Dr. Lotion was great but not worth the headache. Wish he would go independent
July 14 · Samuel ThorntonI had an emergency yesterday with my pet dog and I proceeded to rush over there to get him looked at prior to their POSTED closing time of 6pm.I get there around 5:33pm and the door is locked, all lights are off. No note on the door saying that they closed early or anything like that. (Thank God they posted the after hours phone number of the 24/7 15mins away)I proceeded to call them today and my 1st question was what time they closed... once again I'm told 6pm...Asked to speak with someone in charge and the receptionist connected me with that site Administrator, name I'm told is Johnathan Estrada.Johnathan was, in my opinion, VERY RUDE and VERY CONDESCENDING. Spoke to me as if my concerns did not matter. Tried srugging off the fact that they closed early, which I found out out from him; they closed at 5pm (AN HOUR EARLIER than posted) because corporate is attempting to cut down on labor hours... he then asks if I called 1st prior to arrival... I don't know if anyone's 1st thought when their pet (mind you this is my 1st emergency with my dog) is to call to make sure a hospital that says it's open until 6pm on MULTIPLE platforms call to make sure they are open at 5:30pmI then try and ask Johnathan what the corporate number is so I can try and talk to them to resolve this issue and he said in a very patronizing way 1-800-VCA... Tht isn't even a full phone number!?!Found the corporate number online, called and left a message, hopefully my concerns are heard by someone who cares.
May 13 · Steven SkinnerI have been a client for about 6 months now for my 2 little rescue dogs. I always feel like this location is SUPER responsive and helpful, very easy to schedule with. Prices are reasonable and my dogs receive great care. I'm often able to get same day medication refills and the appointment/vaccination reminders help me stay on top of things. Overall I'm very happy with their services.
May 17 · Andrew AlbertsVCA has been nothing short of wonderful with my pups care! They are compassionate and understanding towards her specific needs. I feel like everyone truly listens which makes me comfortable as a first time dog owner. They offer everything from basic care to nail trims to ER related visits. They are also very honest in pricing and what our $$$ go to. All of the staff here have been wonderful. I am grateful the humane society uses them as a preferred provider!
