A client who had to make the agonizing decision to say goodbye to their beloved dog Trixie described the staff as showing "nothing but compassion, dignity, and grace." They were given the "real, and meaningful time" to be with their dog, to hold her, and to say a final, gentle farewell. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This vet is amazing. I took my leopard gecko for a visit to assess her hunger strike and the tech was so kind and gentle when helping the doctor do a check up on her. The doctor was informative and gentle and made me calmer while handling my fidgety gecko (she’s is a nervous nelly and a runner). They also talked you through pricing making sure you know what you’re paying for as well as setting up limits on how much you are able to afford. Will be going back here if any of my animals needs a visit
September 12 · Julia ServayThere are no words big enough to hold the amount of gratitude I have for the team at 2nd Street Animal Hospital, but I’ll try my best.Last week, I had to do one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life: say goodbye to my beloved dog, Trixie. She wasn’t just a pet. She was my shadow, my emotional anchor, my sunshine through years of personal storms. For more than a decade, she stood by me as I navigated the toughest parts of life, always offering comfort without needing to speak a word.In her final days, Trixie was struggling. She was confused, losing weight, and clearly in pain. As much as I wanted to hold on forever, I knew she deserved peace. Still, making that decision was terrifying. But everything changed when I walked into 2nd Street Animal Hospital. From the moment we arrived, the staff showed us nothing but compassion, dignity, and grace. They did not rush us. They did not treat this like just another procedure. They allowed us time real, and meaningful time to sit with her, talk to her, hold her, and simply be with her as she transitioned beyond this realm. When the moment came, I held her face in my hands, smiled through the tears, and sang “You Are My Sunshine” to her. I wanted her to hear love as she slipped away. I wanted her to feel safe and to know she was surrounded by warmth and care. Because of the patience and empathy from the team at 2nd Street Animal Hospital, I was able to give her that parting gift. They gave us space to grieve without pressure, to love without interruption, and to say goodbye in the gentlest way possible.Trixie left this world peacefully. And I will never forget the kindness that made that possible.Thank you, 2nd Street, for your empathy, your professionalism, and your humanity. You helped me honor someone who gave me everything. That means more than you will ever know
May 13 · UserVery glad to have found this place. It has amazing friendly staff that are very welcoming. Very happy taking my animals there and got great care from Dr. Meade. Did not feel rushed through they took the time to explain everything and gave my dog the best care.
August 18 · Jonathan Sanchez2 years ago 2nd St AH saved this little girl's life. She had a prolapse while laying eggs [on a Saturday morning], and not many vets see exotics and even less do it on weekends. After a quick internet search and a call down there, we drove an hour to 2nd St. and they fixed her up! The liklihood of it happening again was real, but she's had 3 clutches of eggs since (although we don't breed her or keep any) this little friendly girl continues to do great! Thank you to the entire team at 2ndSt Animal Hospital - she's here today because of you guys!Highly recommend, and much love!
January 23 · Steve AltieriI rarely write reviews for businesses, but when looking for a new vet, the reviews helped me choose 2nd st animal hospital. Dr. Bender is extremely knowledgeable about exotics, and was especially helpful and caring when I brought my beardie in for checkups. The empathy and compassion they showed when I had to put down my beardie was beyond appreciated. The entire team here is so kind, friendly, caring, and welcoming. I appreciate everything they do and highly recommend using this clinic to care for all your pet’s needs!
