We've been welcoming Dr Barotz into our home for the 3 years now and she's been a wonderful support for our 14-year old pooch Lola, who deals with painful GI issues &arthritis. Dr Barotz got both under control through a blend of Western and Eastern methods: including Chinese herbs, western meds & acupuncture. All of this has noticeably reduced Lola's discomfort, helped her mobility and improved her quality of life. Lola gets so excited when she comes over, and slips right into a comfortable nap when the needles go in - she's a very happy customer! Dr Barotz is attentive, caring, gentle, extremely informed when it comes to supporting Lola, and we cannot recommend her enough. - Chris Romine

Tranquil Paws Veterinary Introduce

In the expansive and diverse world of New York City veterinary medicine, Tranquil Paws Veterinary offers a unique and invaluable approach to pet health. This is not a traditional animal hospital focused solely on Western medicine; rather, it is a practice dedicated to integrative veterinary care, blending conventional diagnostics and treatments with holistic and alternative therapies. Led by the highly respected Dr. Sharon Barotz, the clinic specializes in a range of services that go beyond the typical vet visit. Their focus on modalities like acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and laser therapy provides a crucial option for pet owners whose animals may not be responding to conventional treatments, are experiencing side effects from medications, or are simply seeking a more holistic approach to wellness. This philosophy is centered on promoting the quality of life for pets, particularly those with chronic conditions like arthritis, hip dysplasia, and pain-related issues. For New York pet owners, this represents a significant shift from the standard reactive care to a proactive and comprehensive wellness strategy. The practice understands that true pet health often requires a multi-faceted approach, and they work in partnership with traditional veterinarians to ensure the best possible outcome. This collaborative spirit ensures that pets receive a complete spectrum of care, from initial diagnosis to ongoing management of their conditions, all with a focus on improving their mobility, energy, and overall happiness.

The success of Tranquil Paws Veterinary is best told through the stories of the animals they have helped. Clients rave about the personalized and gentle care that Dr. Barotz provides. One pet owner shared the "wonderful support" their 14-year-old dog, Lola, received for painful GI issues and arthritis. By combining Chinese herbs, Western meds, and acupuncture, Dr. Barotz was able to "noticeably reduced Lola's discomfort, helped her mobility and improved her quality of life." The review highlights the trust and comfort Lola feels, noting how she gets excited for the visits and even slips into a "comfortable nap when the needles go in." This is a powerful testament to the gentle and effective nature of the treatments. Another client with a 14-year-old chihuahua mix that tore his ACL also found success with Dr. Barotz's alternative methods, which included acupuncture and food supplements, in lieu of surgery and pain medications. This pet owner felt "really confident navigating both preventative and pain management measures with her by my side" and was "SO grateful that she comes to our home." This convenient home-visit model is particularly beneficial for senior or anxious pets, as it removes the stress of travel and a clinical environment. These testimonials underscore the clinic's commitment to improving the lives of pets through a compassionate, informed, and truly integrative approach that addresses the root of the problem and focuses on the animal's overall well-being.

Tranquil Paws Veterinary is a unique practice located at 1349 Lexington Ave #3B, New York, NY 10128, USA. However, a significant and distinguishing feature of this clinic is its focus on home visits, making it a highly accessible option for pet owners throughout the greater New York City metropolitan area, including Manhattan, the outer boroughs, and Westchester. This mobile service is a huge advantage, especially for pets with mobility issues, senior animals, or those who experience anxiety during travel or in a traditional clinic setting. By bringing the care directly to your home, Dr. Barotz creates a tranquil and familiar environment that can make a world of difference for a pet's comfort and stress levels. While there is a physical address, the primary mode of operation is through these house-call appointments. This service model makes the clinic highly convenient and responsive to the needs of the city's diverse pet population. Appointments are recommended to ensure that Dr. Barotz can dedicate the necessary time to each patient. The clinic also has a restroom available, and while the primary service is mobile, this amenity is a helpful detail.
