If I could leave no stars, I would. I had an appointment at 230p and live only 12 blocks from their office. I made two appointments— onefor each cat. I would’ve become a new client. My one cat needed a follow-up appointment because he just had surgery at an urgent care center and I was instructed to get the wound checked by a vet within a week. I was desperately trying to get there, but for some reason my Lyft driver was sitting on 68th street and not 69th street. At the same time I received a call from Feline Health telling me that if I didn’t show up by exactly 245p that my appointment would be cancelled. I said that it was very important that my cat receive follow-up care and asked if I turned up at 246p would I be turned away. She said yes. Meanwhile, the day before she told me to call if I was running late and they would do their best to accommodate me:Well, if this was their best, I’d hate to see them at their worst. The admin was rude and wouldn’t listen to reason.I am so happy that I did not become a client of this place. Apparently, they couldn’t care less about my cat and his emergent condition. All they care about is money. Stay away from this place and find a vet who cares about your pets and understands that it is very complicated transporting pets in NYC in the rain.I will tell all of my friends who are cat parents to not choose this place. There are plenty of other vets in NYC who actually would care about your pet w a complicated condition . This vet doesn’t care!Below are pics of my cat’s surgery. I think it’s understandable why I would be upset that I could not get a follow-up visit ! - Maria Coler

Feline Health Introduce

For cat owners in New York City, finding a veterinary clinic that is tailored to the specific needs and temperament of felines can be a game-changer. Feline Health is a unique animal hospital that does just that, identifying as a "cat-only" practice. By focusing exclusively on cats, the clinic creates an environment free from the sights, sounds, and smells of dogs and other animals, which can be a significant source of stress for many cats. This specialized approach ensures that every aspect of the veterinary visit, from the waiting room to the examination table, is designed with a cat's comfort in mind. It is a non-corporate, private practice that prides itself on offering a personalized and caring experience for both cats and their human companions.

The practice is a women-owned business, which adds to its community-focused and personal feel. This distinction is important for many New Yorkers who prefer to support independent, local businesses. Feline Health positions itself as a full-service animal hospital, capable of providing everything from primary care and routine wellness exams to more complex internal medicine and surgical procedures. Their services are designed to meet a cat's health needs at every stage of life, from kitten care to senior cat care, providing continuity and a long-term partnership in your cat's well-being.

Navigating the urban environment with a pet can be challenging, and the a single customer review provided reflects a frustrating experience with the clinic's strict appointment policy. This is a crucial point for potential clients to consider. While many businesses, especially in a busy city like New York, have strict policies to ensure efficient operations, it is vital to understand what to expect. This particular review suggests a lack of flexibility, which can be difficult for pet owners in a city where transportation and schedules can be unpredictable. However, another review highlights the benefits of a cat-only environment, praising the staff's ability to handle a "socially awkward" cat and the non-corporate feel of the clinic. This contrast shows that while the clinic may have rigid policies, the quality of medical care and the environment itself are highly valued by others.

Feline Health is a place for cat owners who appreciate specialized care and a stress-free environment for their pets. It is a vet clinic and animal hospital that prioritizes the unique health and behavioral needs of felines. The information provided points to a wide range of services, including advanced diagnostics like ultrasounds and digital radiology, making it a capable facility for both routine and more serious health concerns. The following sections will delve into the specifics of what this unique practice offers, its accessibility, and the key features that define its place in the New York City pet care landscape.

Location and Accessibility

Feline Health is located at 1533 1st Ave, New York, NY 10028, USA. This Upper East Side location is convenient for many residents in Manhattan. The clinic is situated on a major avenue, making it accessible via public transportation. This eases the stress of transporting a cat to an appointment, as finding parking is often a major hurdle.

Furthermore, the clinic is equipped with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible restroom. This commitment to accessibility ensures that the facility is welcoming and easy to navigate for all clients, including those with mobility challenges. The provided information notes that appointments are required or recommended, which is a standard practice for many veterinary clinics in the city and helps them manage patient flow efficiently.

What is Worth Choosing

When you're searching for the right veterinary care for your cat in New York, the options can be overwhelming. Feline Health is worth choosing for several compelling reasons that directly address the unique needs of feline companions and their owners. The most notable advantage is its status as a cat-only animal hospital. This specialized environment is a world away from the stress and anxiety a cat might experience in a multi-species clinic. The absence of dogs and other animals creates a calm and reassuring atmosphere, which can lead to more accurate physical exams and a much more positive experience for your pet.

The practice’s identity as a non-corporate, women-owned business is another major draw. For many New Yorkers, supporting a local, private practice that is driven by a passion for animal care, rather than a corporate bottom line, is a priority. This often translates to a more personalized and compassionate approach to medicine, where long-term relationships are valued. While a negative review points to a rigid appointment policy, it is important to weigh this against the many benefits of the practice, which others have clearly found worthwhile. The availability of advanced diagnostics and a wide range of services, from grooming to international travel certificates, demonstrates that this is a sophisticated and capable animal hospital.

Finally, the clinic's commitment to community and inclusivity, as seen in its status as an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender safe space, shows that it is a business with strong values that extend beyond just pet care. By choosing Feline Health, you are not just selecting a veterinarian; you are choosing a partner in your cat's long-term well-being, a partner who understands the specific needs of felines and is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care in a unique and specialized environment.
