Broadway Animal Clinic - Now Closed Introduce
For many New Yorkers, a beloved pet is a cherished member of the family, and finding a trusted veterinarian who understands this bond is crucial. Broadway Animal Clinic, a well-known veterinary practice in Astoria, NY, was a place that, for a time, provided a wide range of services to the community's cats and dogs. The clinic, now closed, was known for offering a comprehensive approach to pet healthcare, from routine check-ups to more specialized treatments. For many pet parents in Astoria and throughout Queens, it was a go-to destination for professional and compassionate care, aiming to make every visit as stress-free as possible for both the animal and the owner. Its legacy is one of being a local clinic with a dedicated staff, committed to providing care that was as intelligent as it was kind.
The core of the clinic's mission was to provide thorough and thoughtful veterinary services. This focus on comprehensive care was what made the clinic stand out in a city full of options. It was a place where a scared or traumatized pet could, over time, learn to trust again, as highlighted in a glowing review from a pet owner who had been to multiple vets in the city. The review lauded the staff for their knowledge, friendliness, and caring approach, noting that their intelligence and thoughtfulness were "truly hard to come by." This level of personalized and empathetic care was central to the clinic's identity, and a testament to its commitment to the well-being of its patients. However, like any business, experiences could vary, and it is important to acknowledge the diverse perspectives of clients. One negative review highlighted a deeply distressing experience with grooming and sedation, citing a dog's long-term trauma and fear. This serves as a powerful reminder that the bond between a pet and its owner is delicate, and that trust in a care provider is built on every interaction, good or bad.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My dog had a terrible vet experience somewhere else, and since then, he won’t let any vet, or even some friends and strangers, examine him or pet him. We have now been here three times. The third time, my dog acted as he did before: he allowed examination, allowed medicine, and wasn’t traumatized. The entire staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. I have been to five vets in Astoria, and a number of vets all over the city throughout my pet-owning experience, and the intelligence and thoughtfulness that this office has is truly hard to come by.
November 02 · Marlena N.Took my dog to get groomed and have a sedative because shes sensitive when it comes to the machines and scissors. My baby girl cryed for 4 hours straight, while the assistants were telling the vet to place another sedative to keep her quiet. She couldnt stop shaking for the entire week and kept hiding from us, lost appetite, she was scared and didnt know who to trust anymore. They truly dont care about pets of any kind. Horrible dirty place, horrible vets, there cats gave my freaking baby girl fleas!!! Dont bring your dog here! Dont recommend. If i had the option to give this place a zero star rating i would! Never coming back here and sticking with Blue Pearl from Forest Hills.
August 23 · Chelsea GutierrezVery unsatisfied with this vet. I took my puppy because she had diarrhea, they made it sound like she was having a deadly virus. They were not prepared, and did not have the appropriate test to diagnose my puppy. When they tried to manually get a stool sample, they hurt her even more, ended up bleeding afterwards. They did not tell me that they were giving her a sedative, and the effects that it would have on her. When I got a phone call with the results, they just said "is negative" with no explanation of what they checked nor asked if my puppy was better. Horrible service. Never again I'm taking either one of my pets to that place.
November 08 · barbara pereyraDo not bring your dog here to be groomed. We bought our 11 month old cockapoo in for a bath and puppy cut. 4 plus hours later we went to go pick him up and they shaved him down to his skin! After giving them specific instructions they failed to execute it. The dog was a ski-dish when we left so who knows what was done to him when he was there. I will never be going back and I suggest you don't either
March 13 · Emma CumminsThis place over charges you and wants you to pay everything upfront before they help your pet. I took my dog there for a UTI. Dr. Petel wanted to run so many tests which would have cost me more than $1000 for just a UTI without knowing the results from the urinalysis first. Also the antibiotics alone was $70When the results did come back he told me my dog needs to go on a "special diet" but wouldnt tell me what it was just special diet and that my dog might have diabetes so i needed a complete bloodwork. He didnt even check her weight only estimated in his head and did a half ass heart check with his stethescope.Went to another vet and they checked on spot with a touch of blood no diabetes!
